Tang questions

Looking to add tangs to my display... I had a previous post up in new to the hobby (sorry posted in wrong spot) but from the advice I had received there I believe i'm going to go with 1 yellow tang and 1 kole tang.

I would love a powder blue tang to be in there as well but it seems my tank may not be large enough to adequately support all 3. Tank is 150 gallons.

Will the tangs bother a diamond goby and pistol shrimp?

can diamond goby and pistol shrimp be placed into main display tank or should they follow normal QT procedures?

I currently only have 2 ocellaris clowns in the 150 gallon display tank.
 
I am not too familiar with tangs, so I can't help you there, but I would put at least the goby through normal QT. Up to you about the shrimp, but any fish can bring stuff in and share it with other fish, so I wouldn't skip on QTing it. That being said, I wouldn't shove it in a small QT tank at the same time as the tangs, because especially in a small space, they might push it around.

Edit: Also, don't worry about putting the goby and shrimp in at different times. Not all gobies and shrimp will feel like pairing up, but if they would, they will find each other even if added at different times.

The tang advice you got was correct. QT everything you get not only to ensure they are disease and other ailments free, but also to get a fish eating and eating well.
 
alright thanks again everyone. This forum is absolutely incredible with the wealth of knowledge everyone has on here. I really do appreciate the help.

going to get 1 yellow tang and 1 kole tang on friday. I will place them into a 29 gallon biocube which i use as a QT tank. I'll hold off on the shrimp and goby until after the tangs are out of QT and then QT the goby and shrimp together. The QT tank is a bare bottom tank with only 2 pvc elbows in it, how does this work out for the diamond goby and shrimp will they require a sand bed?
 
Personally, I wouldn't bother with a Diamond Goby (assuming you are referring to Valenciennea puellaris). They are more likely to strip the sand of life then slowly starve to death. They don't pair with pistol shrimp either. If you want to pair a goby with a pistol shrimp, look for gobies from the Stonogobiops or Amblyeleotris genera. They will usually pair with an Alpheus sp. shrimp.
 
I thought the gobies helped to clean the sand, that's ultimately what i'm looking for is a fish to keep the sand clean... suggestions?

A good CUC is better at keeping the sand clean than fish, IMO. I have two Strombus sp. conchs in my 105 that keep the sand nice and white. I also have a lot of Cerith sp. and Nassarius sp. snails that keep the sand well-aerated.
 
Might be better to do the shrimp/goby pair before buying tangs. Add peaceful fish before aggressive fish.
