Tang ?

I just upgraded to a marineland 250 dd. I had a yellw tang fron my old setup. Today I bought another yellow and a desjardin and added them all together. All tangs are around the same size. Actually the smaller yellow is the problem. At first everyone got along great. After a few hours or so the smaller yellow started to nip the other tangs. I removed him and put him in the fug. Should I keep him in time out for a few days and than try adding him again, or should I just get rid of him? I like the idea if two yellows but I don't want to see them fight.

Yellows should really be added together. It is very hard to just add 1. You may have better luck adding 2-3 so your original one can't just focus on one

I've heard yellow tangs are best added in odd numbers.. either single or 3 is what I would suggest for your tank. If going three...guess its better to limit on 1 or two other tangs for the tank....

What other fish do you have?? its usually said that yellow tangs should be last ones added (ofcourse depends on your stock list) but in general for a community tank...you might have trouble adding other fishes after the 3 yellows establish themselves..!

same with my yellow tangs, I purchased two at same time about the same size. The smaller one picks on the bigger one. So I decided to add one more, to try to solve the problem. The new yellow is almost double the size of the small one. The small one now picks on the largest one.

I thought by adding 3 tangs of similar body shape that would do the trick. I guess I was wrong. I don't know if I should try adding him again in a week or get rid of him. The desjardin and my other yellow are getting along fine. I dont know if I want to add crazy back to the tank. Some people say that the aggression only last a few aye but I don't want a bunch of fish with messed up fins swimming around.

If you rearrange the rock work and catch and reacclimate them together you should be fine

The best thing I ever tried was taping several 4'x1' mirrors to the side of the tank. It brought my new achilles back from almost death by PBT. Each fish was so happy to attack its own reflection it forgot about other fish. Those two were very aggressive so it took a while before I could remove all the mirrors, but it definitely saved that fish's life. They still don't like each other, but we've gotten through 4 years so far.

going to dollar store to see if I can find some cheap mirrors, hopefully it will solve my problem too...
