Tangs fighting. need advise.

I would not put more than one tang in that small of a tank. The only acceptable tangs, IMO, would be one of the small bristletooth tangs. I personally love Tominis.

I understand your love for tangs. I love them too. It is much better, though, to obtain fish that are suitable for the tank you have rather than stock it with fish that need more room than what is provided.

Good luck with your choice.

+1. Sometimes it's hard to resist the urge to put just one tang (and put the tang last), but that is the best choice.

I called the manager today after waiting and never getting an email and he said there was nothing he could do but 50% cash back. Its kinda frustrating. I guess if one dies before they are sold id still get about the same abount of cash.

Did you ask about store credit sometimes if its store credit they will do more. Also call around to other LFS's in your area, some will give you a better deal. Explain your situation. Someone might be able to help you out. But I say losing 30-60 dollars isn't a bad thing, if you learned something! You also definitely want to QT, I made the mistake and lost $150 dollars worth a fish in 3 days! It sucks!

I did ask about store credit. I dont have any GREAT aquarium stores nearby and I doubt they would do any more than 50%. I saw a quarintine on craigslist yesterday. It was a 20gallon long tank with a hang on bach filter. heater, thermomater, a small powerhead, and a 13w light. I do not know a whole lot about quarintines so is this a good buy, and what are the advantages of quarintine?

Do you have a reef club in your area? If you do, see if any of the members would be interested in buying the YT from you.

not sure but ill look that up. Thanks for the sugestion. Im fairly new to this hobby so im almog everydayst learning somthing every day

Thats a shame about your LFS. Stay on this site and ask questions about anything you are not sure about...rather than trust your LFS.
Personally I would go with the bristle tooth tang for your size of tank. One YT will do OK in your 75 but not great in the long run IMO. Perhaps you could do a trade with a local reefer. My LFS sucks as well and I rely for the most part on local reefers for swapping and buying or selling. Good luck. THe advice given to you on this thread is spot on.

I will just sell both YT to be safe for future fish. I am in contact with the store I bought the YTs from and I am expecting an email about refund information. If they can not do a resonable refund I will sell them on craigslist.

(clapping my hands). Good for you. A 75g long isn't enough room for a YT if you ask me.

Get some nano type fish (Gobies, Chromis, Ocellaris Clown, Firefish, Blennies, etc.) and you'll be able to keep quite a few. More movement, more fish, lots of color, and you're tank will be looking pretty sweet. Most importantly, your livestock will be happy too.

I know you love Tangs, but they're not able to thrive in a 75g, IMO.

You have Premium Aquatics nearby; one of my favorite places. Great customer service.

A store that quarantines is good, but it's still better to do it on your own. You should only quarantine things if you plan on adding them to your tank.

Ive been to premium aquatics when they have their walk-in hours and have not been impresed with some of the workers intelagence(like the: wellll... I dont realy know let me ask my boss, type of thing constantly) but some people their have known almost every question I asked; it about a 50/50 shot. Ive goten most of my livestock there(only a few inverts. Most livestock came with the craigslist deal) and also supplies. They know more about supplies and equiptment rather than live stock. Thats at least what I have noticed so far anyway.

I personaly like the colors that just POP on saltwater fish and also their movment so ive been looking for fish to add slowly once I can find a home for the tangs. I want to add possibly a small school of Blue/Green reef chromies which I know can be a little risky, a flame angel, a Kole yellow eye tang, and a few pepperment shrimp to get rid of apstaisia. I currently have 2 clowns, a cleaner shrimp, countless hermet crabs, a few other crabs smaller crabs and I think a dottyback, plus the tangs which will not be there when I add this stuff. Would all that be compatible?

That looks like a great list. Personally I would drop the Chromis school, because they don't really school in a small aquarium. And they will eventually kill each other off. Its just going to happen.

I would go...

1x Kole Tang
1x Dwarf Flame Angelfish fish
2x clowns
1x Royal Gramma
1x Some type of wrasse. I love my Flasher Carpenters Wrasse.
1x Tail spot blenny

Although this list is on the heavy side. I think you could pull it off. I'm not aware of what your equipment looks like though. Protein skimmer, fuge, etc.

I have a skimmer rated to i beleve 250gal.

Be careful with a skimmer that is too large, with a larger diameter neck it may have a hard time keeping a steady head foam. If you have a corals, the flame angel might not be a good choice. I purchased a flame and coral beauty awhile back and put them together at the same time. They got along great but over time they ate my clam mantle and caused my plate coral to fully retract.

I dont have any super expensive corals in my tank yet so I may still get it but if it picks at the coral to much Ill sell it. If not ill start getting corals but I will be carfull. Why would the consistancy matter for the skimmer?

I am almost completly positive I have a proclear aquatic sytems 150 gal. skimmer. I went to there site and matched the neck size with there current skimmers and that what I got. I am not 100% sure that is right because I am not sure how old that skimmer is and dont know if they changed any thing on that model(tank and eqiptment was off of craigslist).
