Big water changes to stabilize everything, and then trace out each possible problem one by one making one change at a time.

i've just done a 20% water change yesterday and added back bio-pellets and active carbon.

My phosphate is 0, but my Nitrate is 20-40. What should i do? Should i add the bio-pellet back?

Here are my Parameters:

Phos: 0
Nitrate: 20-40
Cal: 460
Alk: 8-9
Salinity: 1.25
Temp: 80*F

I personally dont think 20-40 nitrate would have killed the shrimp. At one point, the nitrates was off the chart in my tank, yet everything was alive (fish, sps, inverts). Most of my sps was brown, but they were alive.

Also it will take awhile before the pellets start bringing down the nitrates. In my experience, its takes atleast a few weeks to start seeing changes. Id just recommend proper water changes.

Ya, that's a typo.

After adding Carbon, Bio-pellets, and water change, a few corals are coming back to life. I can see my monticap starting to green up again.
