tank disaster - center brace snapped and front frame split

Marineland makes thousands of tanks, I think they received a few supports that failed, but there are still many thousands of tanks that are still fine. My 300DD like many others are doing great even after 5 years. The original Oceanic was one of the best and yet they had a few failures

Here is my fix. I'm in the middle of it now. The acrylic is fasten to the trim via nylon bolts. I also used epoxy between the acrylic and plastic trim. I also used the epoxy to reattach what had broke. Now I'm going to silicone under the acrylic to the tank and hopefully tie it all together.

Looks good and it appears it wouldn't show much outside when viewing. How did this end up working out for you?

It's holding but I don't trust it. I turned the return pump down and one of my mp40s off. The other mp40 is still on but dialed way back. I hear little popping every once in a while but I think it will hold until my new trim gets in.

Did you buy a complete new trim kit from Marineland? What does it take to install something like that and what kind of $ are we talking for the kit?

I bought the top trim, not sure what all comes with it. It was 80 bucks. It just takes forever for it to get here.
