Tank drilling in Springfield?

Title pretty much says it all. I need to get a tank drilled, and would like to do it locally. Anybody had this done around here? Who did you use, what did it cost, did they do a good job, etc. Thanks much!

I used Binschwager (Spelling?) Glass on Campbell. They did a good job but kind of expensive. $30 per hole. I have done several myself since then for alot less.

$30.00 per hole? Sheesh! I could see paying that if they'd guarantee not to bust the tank, but I know no one will do that. Just spoke to someone at American, and they said that for 3 holes (1x1" and 2x3/4") I'd be looking at somewhere around $40.00.

Hope they don't break my tank!

Be sure it is $40 total and not $40 per hole. That's what happened to me when I had my tank drilled. They told me $30 and it eneded up being per hole after it was done.

If you ever make it down to ET in Rogers, James drills tanks. He drilled 18 holes in mine, and he's pretty good on price.

Binshcwagger (however the hell you spell that) wouldn't drill my tank for me at all - period. note to self - tell everyone that those guys are schmoes...
james will drill your tank for you - it's more expensive than i'd like, but he'll go down on the price per hole the more holes you need.

There is a place in Tulsa. I think its in that $35-$40 per hole cost, but it is covered if it is broken. I am guessing that if it were multiple holes there would be some kind of discount
I don't know if thats to far for you or not.

Just took the tank to American on Friday. They said it would be about $30 for all three holes (2x1" and 1x1.5"). I'll let you know how it comes out.

Maybe we should buy a couple of hole drill bits. Depending on the quality you can end up paying anywhere from 8 to 50 dollars.

If the club were to own them we all could use them or even pay a small rental fee.

just a thought.

DON'T USE AMERICAN GLASS! Not only did they take a WEEK longer than they told us, they didn't even drill the middle hole the right size. I asked for 1 inch holes on the left and right, and a 1.5 inch hole in the middle. They wrote down 1.25, and since they didn't have a 1.25 bit (the WRONG measurement anyway) they decided to "freehand" it. So now I have a hole that is the wrong size, crooked, and chipped all to h*ll around the edges.

If I wasn't afraid it would take ANOTHER two weeks to get it back, I'd take it back to the shop and demand they fix it for free.
