Tank in front of window??

You can either Tint the Window, Add Thick Blinds and curtains, but i can tell you now, you most def dont want the light refracting in. Algae Bloom Nightmare! I Know First Hand how quick it can set in!

I had a 240 setup in front of a window that stretched the length of the 8' tank. I got 2" thick x 12" x 48" white styrofoam sheets and glued them to the back of the tank using a water based silicone sealant. It worked well in dissipating the heat transfer from the sun and eliminated algae issues. The window also had Levelors. Most arts and crafts stores sell sheets of modeling foam like what I used that will work very well for your needs.

Sweet.. good to know.
I am still trying to fully understand "Low Nutrient" tank.

thanks for the info!

Drew

Low nutrient means little nutrients for algae and bacteria to consume, nutrients in the form of nitrate and phosphate.
This can be achieved by good quality filtration, frequent water changes, and not overstocking the tank.
