Tank is a Year Old Now!

LMAO Brian.
Thanks everyone!
We just changed the bulbs the other day, so the color is a bit different now. Before we only had white, so we added a blue and I guess a purple that makes the tank look pink when the lights first come on LOL.

These were my 2nd coral purchase. I wanted them to grow up the overflow. If you have these taking over, I have the perfect spot to make them not do it. In the corner of my tank by the overflow! :lmao: I just moved them this past week to where the feather duster was before and they seem a lot happier. Dunno what I'm going to do, though, since that's not by the overflow! *sigh*

Nice tank Sushi!

You should be able to peel GSP off the rock and glue them on to your overflows.

Thanks FF! Yeah, that was my first thought, and I may do that now that it's a little more sparse than it was. The issue when I first got it, is that's one of those donut frag plugs with a hole in the middle, and the majority of the GSP was in that hole rather than on the frag where I could peel it off easily.

jacob, I use a turkey baster to feed mysis. I thaw it in a cup of tank water, then I let it float out onto the heads. The feeder tentacles hold onto it and the mouth swallows it pretty quickly.

Time for some updates!!

I forgot to include the original fuge in the previous update, so I'll start from the beginning there.
The original fuge was a tiny thing that came with the tank. It was so small, we put it in a tote in the stand in case it overflowed :lmao:.

We bought a larger used one and installed it (that was scary).

2 weeks ago we sold off most of the dragon's breath, and it already looks like the 1/2/12 pic again. Stuff is insane! I put some in the display today.

We lost AH the 6-spot sleeper goby (the all white one) earlier this week. Came home & he was dead sucked up against the powerhead. We bought him in February of last year, so had him about exactly a year. We won't be getting another one of those, he paced for hours every day, only stopping for about 2 hours when I fed. He was a huge hog, so he didn't starve to death.

Since we got the yellow wrasse, he'd gotten more aggressive to Spot the orange-spotted goby to the point where we rarely saw Spot anymore unless AH was asleep. The past 2 weeks, Spot decided to start standing up to AH again instead of hiding. Today he's all over the front of the tank. Literally sitting by the front middle glass in front of the new frags. Every time another fish goes by low & close to the corals, he does his aggressive show until they get past the corals LOL.

The new corals we got today. $20 each for 3 and one free. I picked out the galaxea & my boyfriend picked the rest. We don't have room for these in the 55 really, but we're already planning for the 140 with stuff that won't grow like crazy before we can transfer it (as in, NO MORE LEATHERS!!! :lmao:). At least we can put them on the sand now, with no sifter.

Galaxea. This one actually makes me sad. Back in 2003 I bought online a bigger-than softball size white-tipped galaxea for $35.99 that even had a matching anemone shrimp in it *sigh*...those were the days!

Pagoda cup. This one makes me happy. I bought a yellow one back in 2003 that never had any polyps even when I got it LOL.

Horrible pic. Favites?

Another horrible pic. No idea what this is, other than encrusting and what it needs as far as care. I guess he didn't ask her the name, and I was wandering around so I didn't ask. At least he asked how to care for it, though! This was the only one in the sale tank, the rest were in the non-sale tanks. Bright bright green, encrusting, and some were a bit spiky like some of the encrusting ones do. I don't even know where to begin looking for what it is, so if you know, pipe up!

Oh, and lucky us, we got more bristleworms with some of those frags :headwallblue:...I overfeed so we have a lot of big ones already, didn't need more big ones!

The xenia is finally taking over! I surrounded it on the right with shells & rubble so I can pull it so it doesn't overgrow the zoas. And no, I'm not ticked about it, got it so it would take over! Some of it is trying to escape via the overflow LOL. This was the first coral in the tank, and almost didn't make it.
