Updates?
Thanks avblanchard! Looking forward to see what you come up with.I like it I was wanting to do a free floating canopy on the 60g cube I started gonna have to steal some of your ideas
Thanks David. When I started building it, I really didn't intend for it to be so white. It was going to be dark grey with some wood grain mixed in. But after I finished painting the inside, I really liked how it looked, so I changed up the color scheme. That is a very beautiful modern design I love the white it looks very very clean can't wait to see it full of water
Thanks Snoopy! I'm hoping I can finally relax and enjoy looking at it a bit. Hopefully this week will be the last of the build projects and I can relaim my time back.Like the look of that tank
This week I received a lot of goodies, including the new jbj frag tank. Last week I was working on building it and I finished painting it today. I still need to mount the door and add the Aqua Illumination tank mount, but here's how it looks so far.Updates?
Thanks Lion-o!stunning display :eek1:
Thanks Rippin! Aquascaping was a tough call on using fiji or pukani. I liked the look of using the bigger pieces of pukani and sawed some pieces so it had different levels for corals. I donated the 100+ lbs of fiji to another reefer that needed help with his build.Your tank is coming along nicely! I really like your aquascape. Thanks for the update and best of luck with the frag tank install.
Ksigaekdb I used the BRS 1/4" net with frames from home depot.I love your aquascape! What are you using to cover the tank to prevent carpet surfing, the standard BRS screen or something custom?
Between the display and the sump, I have 90lbs of pukani and about 35 lbs of fiji in there. How much rock is in the tank?
The tank is built by deep sea aquatics, the frag tank is the JBJ 20g frag tank. I built the cabinetry.very nice looking tank, who built it?
Appreciate the compliment, and thanks for all your advice along the way!Everything is looking really great!!
Thanks nomethod!Great looking build!
Thanks TX-BJ. I just helped a friend last week do a screen for his rimless. We made the frame the same size as the opening in the tank and mounted two tabs on each side. We just picked up the tabs at the hardware store.Looks great. I love everything about your build.
I have a question about your tank cover you made with the BRS net & screen frames. I bought the materials to make one last year, but had no idea how to mount it so it wouldn't take away from the rimless look. How did you mount yours?
Thanks Solireef. To be honest, I wasn't sure if my skills would be able to pull it off or not. I went through 4 woodworking books, started watching some of the woodworking shows on tv, and ample youtube videos. The RC Stand Build thread was priceless. I went through the archived threads up till current day at least 3 times.I've been lurking on this thread for a while. You've done a great job on everything. I'd love a peak under the tank to see your 'ugly' space. Based on the outside, I bet it's outstanding.
I wish I had your knack with woodworking. I'm OK but it never looks professional. Your's does.
