I really appreciate it. If you guys ever need any help with anything, just give me a call. I didn't know moving a tank would require home improvement skills. I will let the pics Marcus took do the talking.

I'll get the pics ready and posted soon. I have been working on my shop and I'll try to get more done on it today while the weather is nice.

I bet you are wondering how to go about having a tank moving party.

A bright red truck hauling a trailer full of reef tank is a great way to start off a tank moving party. :celeb1:

First, you need to move the gigantic beautifully finished base into the room.

If it can't make the turn into the room, then just try to move it into the adjacent room. Ok so if that doesn't work try angling it and scoot it around. And if that doesn't work, then just stand it on end .... ummm WAIT!!! .... WE ARE ABOUT TO CREATE A SKYLIGHT!! :eek2:

Now you have to consider other options to accomplish your goals. All options start with distracting the wife by handing over some plastic for her to go shopping. She will not want to witness the details involved.

Options:
1. Create a large skylight to work the tank in
2. Knock out a wall
3. Completely remove the window to the room it is going in

David didn't want a skylight, though I hear they are very nice additions. He thought that knocking out a wall might get him kicked out by his wife. All that is left now is completely removing that window.

This is the view your wife sees if she gets home too early.

It wore us out watching David and his brother remove that window. It looked like a road crew with two workers and 4 observers :lol2:

Then you raise the stand over your head to put it through the window. This wasn't that bad since we had plenty of people. The tank, however was much heavier. We got it part way in the window and a few of use then ran into the house to help get it the rest of the way in. Then you have a room full of reef goodness.

David and his brother then installed the window, since this is where the tank will go. It took a little while to maneuver things into place, but we finally accomplished our goal.

And here is the FTS.

Looks like ya'll had fun, sorry I wasn't able to be there...had to make money to keep these two tanks going!

I told her what we did,she didn't complain.I leveled the tank and already have my drain plumbing done. Will start on the return tommorrow.I am going to start looking for a mag 18,the quiet one 9000 may be a little to much.

I think you will be sorry if you do. I am using the 6000 (1500gph) on my 150 (compared to your 2300gph on the 240) and it is returned through 2 - 1" pipes. The flow in the tank from those even with loc-line ends is only moderate in the tank. The two koralia 4's give more flow. It would be easier to restrict a little flow if needed, than the alternative.
