Looks good. I like the way you did the sand

Thanks Dave- It's too bad that I didnt know I had to have styrofoam under the tank. Now I have to rebuild the top of the stand. Should I use the pink or the blue styrofoam. I have searched and people have asked the question, but no one has answered it. It may not matter. It just has to be 3/4 of an inch think. Anyone ever used a certain one under a rimless tank or an acrylic tank?

Thx
Rick

ive used the blue before but never had a rimless. i do not believe there is any difference other than maker.

I used the foam board you get at Walmart for my sump which is technically rimless. You could put a little quarter round around the bottom. It might look nice.

I ended up buying the blue, because I had to go to Lowes for something else.

I also drilled the tank tonight and installed the overflow box. Wow was that scary. I have probably drilled close to 10 holes in tanks and that was by far the scariest one, plus most of the others were for other people. ;) Thanks for the help Derek!

I will get some more pics up after I paint the back glass black.

Rick

Not the best picture, but you can see the overflow is installed and the back glass was painted black.

actually u cant see the overflow at all. Its in the very center at the top. I guess I did a pretty good job of hiding it. (pat self on back) :)

Rick

i see it but i have the same one so i know what to look for. it is hidden pretty well though. what is the white streak come out of the overflow on the glass?

This is a little off subject, but I figured while I had the tank down, I could mod my skimmer. Here is the mesh mod on my impeller for my G3.

ok please explain it pulling more air, or show me a thread explaining it. i can see it creating finer bubbles cause of it chopping them down to size, but how coule it help pull more air. sorry if i sound stupid dave. its been a year since i have thought about a skimmer.
