Critiques and suggestions welcome.

Running 4x54 tek light

aquablue
aquasun
super actinic
aquaplus

Running sumpless with CSS 125 skimmer.

Flow: 2900 gph flow, 2 K3's and 1 K4

Should I swap out the actinic for another aquablue?

The Tang is not black. Lighting in pic kinda makes it look black.

It is a Tomini Tang, AKA Flamefin, Bristletooth
Ctenochaetus tominiensis

Wow, I just bought a 4 by 54 T5 light. I'm glad to see how well your tanks is doing on one.
Good job

Thanks for all of the compliments everyone!

Yep that is my Tomini Tang, very fun and active fish.

Bulb combo from back to front is:

aquablue special
super actinic
aquasun
blue plus

The macro algae is Dictyota, it has been a problem that I have been trying to solve. Adding more flow, raising alk, adding chaeto and massive manual removal has been effective.

I am going to put in some kind of rabbitfish to finish off the rest.

I would like to thank everyone on RC. Without the help from this forum I would not be where I am right now.

I am now to the point where I can give people lots of advice, which is exciting.

I am hoping to continue a mixed reef and hopefully get a sump one of these days. I would rather wait until I can get a 90 gallon RR system.

In the meantime my goal is to keep increasing the density and variety of corals.

Logzor, i have a FoxFace Lo that devours any/all algae. they are not expensive either.
goto: liveaquaria.com for detailed care.

Foxfaces are great at picking at hair algae. I bought one a few days ago for my 90g. He is currently in my old 37 qting. But he already loves to eat nori and algae. He eats everything thing.

I have considered a black background. What would be the best way to do this. I can not move the tank and it is about 6 inches away from the wall.

I was considering buying some of that stick on tinting from home depot.

What do you guys think? It may be too hard to roll or spray paint it in position.
