tank trouble

You can see my big clam on the right side of the tank :(

My kitten posed next to it for size comparison.

He was getting big :(

Tiki, I notice that you also lost the scooter, that fish eats mainly pods, so how is your pods population ? if your pods are dying then it is defintely somekind of metal or other contamination.

Also check for stray voltage, one of your pump or heater could be faulty.

the only pumps I have are 2 koralia #4's, and a mag 12 return pump. as for my heater, i have a 1000 watt titanium with controller. I still need to question my girlfriend and see if she sprayed any perfume or anything in the living room. As for pods, I still have an abundance of them in my refugium so I think its ok.

Its all right, it turns out that Amber has been applying her perfume in the living room, not knowing it was bad. We work opposite schedules, she works days and I work nights so I am never awake when she leaves for work :(
She feels really bad, but its ok. I think everything is starting to stabalize now and it appears that things are done bleaching, although most lost their color and turned brown, I think they will color back up worth time. Thanks everyone for all the help.

It looks like my pod population is starting to rebuild, but it is still low.

Still a good sign in my opinion :)

I still have a small nub of my purple stag hangin in there, It went from 6" tall with many branches to about a 1" nub :(

And it starts over :( Just had my nitrates tested again and it read 80 :(

Mixing up 60 gallons of water and I just installed a phosphate reactor as a precaution.

Well, I did a 60 Gallon water change, and added a phosban reactor on Tuesday and I am still having a cyano problem!!! What do I do now?

keep doing 15-20 gallon water changes every 3-4 days till you get those nitrates down wayyyyyyy lower. Make sure the perameters are the same as the tank when you do them also. And at 80 i would say you might want to cut back on the feeding for a little bit.

That does not seem excesive. How often were you doing water changes and how much were you changing? On you next couple of water changes do the gravel vacuum and siphon of any detritus off your live rock, in your skimmer, in your sump, and anywhere else it is settling. Keep up the water changes, what skimmer are you running on your tank?
