1 Mertensii Butterflyfish(?) It was listed as a pearlscale butterfly at beldts
2 Firefish (i think 1 is dead, can't find him.)
3 Chromies
2 Peppermint shrimp
16ish blue leg hermit crabs
30ish snails
1 fighting conch

the flash made this one a bit bright...

my monticap seems to be doing quite well.

these 2 guys are buddies!

anyone have a herbivore fish suggestion?
i wanted to add a pair of false percs, a yellow tang, and a lawnmower blennie. i thought i would let the bioload settle for a bit.

Nice looking tank, and that butterfly is very nice too, but I've always stayed away from them for fear of them not being reef safe. Has this guy been guilty of any wrongdoings with your corals/inverts in the tank? Most places I just looked up real quick just said "reef safe with caution" or that they were ok with a "limited selection of corals", however they didn't elaborate what those corals were.

i got the pearlscale butterfly at Beldts on wed. so i've only been able to watch him one day. so far he hasn't picked on anything besides food. i checked and it is not Mertensii Butterflyfish, it really is a pearlscale.
fade32 said he has some butterflyfish and they don't bother his coral. it seems to me he's doing things right, so i went ahead and got the pearlscale. i don't have much coral yet, so hopefully this guy will get used to not eating any coral and continue the trend when coral is available. we'll see, and i'll definatly let you guys know!

John must have recently gotten them then, because I don't think he had any of them when I was there. I'd be interested in what he has as well.

Yea I tried to take that butterfly after it was bagged. My wife would have loved it. But I do not think it was reef safe or shrimp safe.
That was a great sale I got 4 fish, 1 clam, 1 crab and food for $130.00
