Mike,
It was great meeting you today. What a wonderful looking tank. I forgot to mention, if you happen to frag off that 1" thick stag I'd be interested in some.
Mike,

It has been over a year since I last updated this thread. The tank has had some major set backs since last spring. I had something mysteriously wipe out nearly all of my SPS. My ownly guess is that was related to a salt brand change. I had one minor Alk swing that I recorded on my main system. I was loosing coral in two seperate systems, so that is the reason why I suspect the salt change. I don't know for 100% certainy that was it so I won't put any names out there. I fought the coral die off with water changes of my prefered brand of IO Reef Crystals. I was able to slow down the carnage to the point that I was able to save enough frags off of my larger colonies to start again in my frag system. I was very successful with this effort.
The main tank was pretty well decimated at this point. One day while performing a water change I noticed that my sump was taking on more water than normal. I didn't think to much of it at first. I figured one of the siphon break holes may have clogged up. The next weekend, I saw the same thing happen again. This time I payed special attention to the drain line that appeared to still bringing water to the sump. It was my right overflow on the tank. I went upstairs and examined the overflow panel very closely. The silicone had seperated from the side of the tank. I believe this may have been related to a leveling issue I had with the tank. At this point, I decided it was time to hit the reset button. I started to plan the shut down and repair of the display tank. I moved all of my livestock out of the dispaly and spread it out between my sump and and frag tank. The tank was leveled out perfectly this time around. I replaced my corner overflow with a new one and siliconed it back in well. I let the tank sit for a week so that the silicone could cure well.
The tank has been refilled and stocked back up again. I can report that I am starting to have some successful SPS growth again. I have become very leary and supersticious when it comes to posting pictures of the tank. It always seems that as soon as I post pictures, something horrible happens soon afterwards. I can say that the tank has no sand bed this time. The cleanup ease is well worth the loss of sand. Maybe I will get brave and post some more pictures in a few months.
I have made some good improvements to my frag system. I will share an updated photo of this tank that was taken yesterday.
