Tank upgrade fish additions suggestions please

Im thinking about upgrading to the redsea peninsula tank when it comes out(165gal). I currently have a 1year old 90gal reef with
1 kole tang
2 fire fish
2 occ clowns
1 fat mandarin
Misc inverts

Im looking for opinions on fish to add after the upgrade. Im thinking
1 yellow tang
1 or 2 yellow watchman gobies
Maybe a small group of anthias
And maybe a coral beauty(want corals to grow out first)

Open to maybe an australian copperband or a sixline wrasse(keeping in mind the mandarin)
Or maybe another tang

Suggestions?

I like my sixline, he's a jerk, but I like him. Luckily my flame angel keeps him in check and my blue tang keeps my flame angel in check, it's a good system.

I did have trouble adding a melanarus wrasse, however I pulled my sixline out for a week, put him in the sump, then added him back to the tank and he never gave the melanarus wrasse any trouble after that. If you want a few wrasses, add sixline late.

But they look so awesome, maybe a flasher?

Totally up to your own preferences. I have a mystery, yellow coris, and leopard wrasse. I've always like the look of the fairy wrasses, but I'm a little wrasse heavy now! Since you have a mandarin, I wouldn't suggest the yellow or leopard like I have.

Other than that, a goby of some sort, if you have sand, is a great addition.

I plan on having 1-2" sandbed, if i got a sixline i would add last. Anyone have experiance pairing yellow watchmen gobies. I have a small randals pistol in there already too.

Not a yellow watchman but I did add a red banded goby. About them at the same time but I added the shrimp to the tank and then put my goby through quarantine and whenever I added the Goby to tank the goby found the shrimp and they I guess instinctively paired until the Goby passed away. So I'm going to try it with a yasha this time.

I guess my next question is, I already have the kole tang and want to add a yellow. I know i should add them to the new tank at the same time, but also adding them near last would be better to minimize aggression on new additions, like the gobies or anthias.
Any experiances with this would help alot.

I don't recommend it but I added a sailfin tang and 2 clowns to my tank first and then a yellow tang an have had zero problems that were caused by the tangs.

Thanks alot. I was reading that most people dont have problems adding wrasses or anthias after tangs, and with a 165 there should be enough space to get away and hide if needed.

I'd also advise against the sixline and advise a Melanurus. Much friendlier and better looking, imo. I have one of them and a redline in a 120 and they are lovely.

Forgot ahout the melanirus, thats a great alternative, redline looks cool never heard if that till now.

They are harder to find, I got mine online. There can be aggression issues because they are in the same genus, but most people get away with it by either introducing at the same time or getting a smaller male than the females (I did the latter because my melenurus was already there)

Take a peek at the wrasse threads over at R2R for some inspiration. With a 165 you could add a few really cool wrasse species.

If space allows maybe set up a QT and start acclimating your yellow tang, then when you set up the 165 add the tangs in at the same time.
