Tanked

I've been waiting to see how it is.
Has gotten mixed reviews online,
but who cares what tv critics say

As long as the drama isn't like some of the reality shows my wife watches, it may be a good watch. Of course my wife is taking shots at me for wanting to watch this since I give her some much grief about her watching every reality show out there.

I did see a clip where the husband makes his accountant wife get in a huge tank full of small sharks to put some decoration in but I dont think the drama will rival the any of those competition reality shows

Jess and I would fight over the chance to get in the tank lol.

It was pretty much what I expected. I was a little confused how they could build a tank and dump like 50 fish in it five minutes later but I guess thats how they roll. It was neat to see them make tanks out of unconventional things like phone booths and cars though.

especially about preaching the merits of a QT tank 5 seconds prior.

I liked the car tank that they built, but the rest of the show was pretty much reality TV caca.

I have decided that I am not going to waste my time watching it anymore.

The tanks themselves are pretty cool. I guess money can indeed buy you anything.

I just wish there were more details about all of the prep and set up, before 50 fish are all dumped in. No telling how many idiots are gonna get any size tank, fill it with a hose and dump in a bunch of fish....happened with "Finding Nemo", it'll happen again.

I hope the already fragile ecosystems can support the "I gotta haves" brought on by this production.

Hopefully it will get people interested and the LFS will intervene with some real education on how to set up a tank. I know most of our LFS stores make sure tanks are cycled and fish are chosen properly. As for the rest, maybe after they kill all their fish they will read a book and do it right the next time. At least it will get people thinking about owning saltwater tanks. Alot of people will do the research on thier own. They will make mistakes, but dont we all?

They charged 30k for that QT system, so I am assuming that the clients don't care about the health of the animals. I'm sure there is a clause that they replace all dead livestock anyways.

We DVR every one. Amazing tank projects, a lot of contrived reality drama, a little comedy and some interesting fish facts thrown in for good measure. We enjoy it!

I like it - I am taking it with a grain of salt - they have great ideas and web tho they dump fish they are some amazing species - I would kill to have a Dogfish Orientalis- those are amazing - I would def order from them if I was ever given the change

did u see where they but hot water in a tank , so they just ran down the hall and got buckets of ice to cool it down. where did the water treatment when the ice melts and everything is released.

I think the fish only tanks they're running give them a little more wiggle room for using lesser quality water than a reef would demand. The little chlorine that may be in the ice will be largely dilluted.

I'll probably watch an episode or 3 more to see if the TV stupidity is worth the cool tank video in the end. I hope they find their stride and suck less as the show goes on. It seems that the company makes good tanks, so it would be nice to see the show turn out good in the end.

Yeah. I wish I could fly to the importer's warehouse and hand-pick my specimens before any LFS or other retailers get their dibs. Sweet deal.
