tank's not looking too good.

LOL Thanks guys. I lost a few big ones, but there is still a lot in the tank that wasn't effected.

XM10K 250-watt MH with URI actinic VHO.

What ballast(s) are you powering them with?

elephen, I used Iceap electronic ballasts for both the MH and VHO.

Thanks Edward. Yeah I had crazy growth over the summer. Funny thing is back in September/October I had some friends over and fragged almost three IO buckets filled with frags for them. Really at this point, growth is my biggest dilemma. Even though it doesn't look, from the picture, that the tank is still having problems. It's my tank so I am well aware of what corals had or are still having problems or have died on me.

I spend a lot of time helping out people on the board and through emails with keeping SPS corals. I just wanted to post that I was having some problems that had resulted in the loss of corals. At one point a few weeks ago I was really concerned that things might take a change for the worst and the tank would really go down on me. A week or water changes every day or so seemed to fix that.

I just wanted to make sure people know that even those of us who post a lot on keeping SPS still issues of our own keeping these animals. I'm still learning like everyone else.

i wish i would have abided by that "1 acro frag every 6-8 inches" rule you came up with....

... even at that i wonder if it woulda been enough room.

joe: have you considered upgrading at all to a larger system, i dont mean getting getting rid of all your current livestock, but maybe upgrading and getting some fresh live rock, etc.

im just curious. the tank still looks great i was just wondering if anything like that had crossed your mind.

i read first pg and some of 2nd. was ready to shi* when u said it was ready to crash. it still looks great. hope u the best, u will pull through.

Hey guys, Yeah the tank is doing much better now. No changes in the last month do it looks to be doing much better.

kozmo02, I have thought about upgrading to a larger tank. The way it is in the room I really can't go longer only taller or wider. The main thing is that if I were to upgrade I would take advantage of the tank being down to re-do the hardwood floors on the main floor. So it would mean a big deal, as I would need to setup a holding tank in the basement for a few weeks till I could get the floors done then get the new tank setup. So looking at the work involved, I keep putting off getting a new tank. :)
