Tanks with LEDs...

As LEDs are becoming a popular nowadays and soo many choices to choose from. I've seen some really nice tanks under these lights and just wanted to see a thread with tanks that has LED lights as their main fixture.

A pic/s of the light and tank, plus some info about the lights would be nice for others to see and compare:)

I'll start first with my 2 month old nano tank with a AquaIllumination Super Sol Blue with stock optics.

Here's my LED cube. I'm using the Ecoxotic LED's with two added actinic modular strips and one actinic stunner strip. Also, don't worry the baby tangs went to a bigger tank.

Very nice colors, which leds give the purple actinic look? is it the stunner ultraviolet ones?

looking to get some LED's on my next build but have concerns about the tank be to "blue " looking. I love the bright white look, any comments

The AI sol blue that I have allows for you to change individually the intensity of white, blue and royal blue to your liking. I believe most fixtures offer the same feature.

It's the two Modular Actinic strips that I added to the fixture. The fixture now has 96 total 1 watt leds that are a mix of 50/50 day/actinic. I think it's perfect.

You can add 4 modular strips to the Panorama Fixture that I have. Two is more than enough. I'm waiting for the different color stunners to come out so I can play with those.

Tank is an Elos 120 (48x22x22), about 3 months old now. Obviously need a third AI module, which in on order now. I will ultimately get a custom light mount to raise the lights and get rid of the ugly AI mounting system:

Great set up everyone. My tank dims are 17x17x16...20 gallons...hehe.

Cool tank someotherguy! Once you raise the lights it should have much better coverage.

You do not really need a third AI unit, the problem is how close they are to your tank. Here is an image I grabbed from another thread, this person has just two AI units over a 48in tank, this tank is actually 48x48x24 and two units light it perfect.

There is more info on this tank on page 76 of this thread,

tanks all look great. i'm hoping to soon convert my 180 gallon freshwater to saltwater. i'd love to have led but its 36 inches deep. will the led's penetrate that deep with enough intensity?
