Tanks with LEDs...

Anyone with a 72" tank with LEDs? I'm looking to upgrade from my 3 - 250w MH to LEDs. I was thinking of getting the 72" package from reefgeeks which includes 6 AI modules with the controller for $3,300. I just want to see how they look before jumping on something like this.

I think 4 will work fine on your tank, just mount them at the appropriate height, AI suggests 4 units for my 48" tank being built...but most folks with experience and Premium Aquatics recommended 3 units would be perfect for 48" tank...I think 2 units might even work...

Very nice colors, which leds give the purple actinic look? is it the stunner ultraviolet ones?

I also invested in the Ecoxotic LED Modules. Which ones do you use during the day and night. I bought a couple of the blue stunner strips to add color during the day with the main LED modules, and then I bought a couple UV stunner (purple) strips for moonlighting. Do you use any of the blue stunner strips for moonlighting, or is that too much light during the night?

Here's my LED cube. I'm using the Ecoxotic LED's with two added actinic modular strips and one actinic stunner strip. Also, don't worry the baby tangs went to a bigger tank.

Lighting system running for about 1 year now...happy with the results..

I just ordered the 48" Marineland reef capable for my 55. Will post with pics of the tank under VHO, and LED's for comparison in a week or so. Until then, I'm like a kid at Christmas waiting for Santa!

IMO, doesn't look like the nem is getting much light. How long have you had the tank under these lights?

Yeah, the nem wasn't getting too much of the light in that pic. I've redone the rockwork, and now the nem is in the middle of the tank near the top. It really thrives there. It's HUGE now!
