So I ordered a TaoTronics LED 120 watt from eBay for $150 with shipping and got it today. Everything works well and it's VERY bright!! My problem is that there's this very annoying ring when I turn it on, a little louder than a old tube tv. Are all LEDs like this or the Chinese ones? Or a solution because I might return it I can't stand that noise. Any help is appreciated

They use computer fans, so those could be easily replaced if need be to a quiet version.

Mbizzo you need to find the big chinese led light thread in this forum its on the page or page 2 there's 40 pages worth of people who bought ths same like post this in there and mayhbe they can tell you if they have the sameproblem

I knothat but he can ask in the other thread with the other 20 people whobought these same lights to see if they had a similar problem... That was he can get a replacement if its faulty or like u said fix it himself just saying he will get more replies in there where people have been then he was getting in here

Shouldn't have to replace anything in a brand new unit so id see if they'd handle it for you

Up by the page count, there is a drop down called "Search This Thread". There are 6 posts about how loud the fans are, just searching the word "loud".
There are 3 fans per unit, which if they are pushing a fair amount of air, will be loud. I had two 3" fans on a Current PC fixture, and they were too loud for me. I can only imagine what 3 would be like.
Again, they can be replaced with fans made specifically to be quiet.
The lights were only $150, what do you expect?

The useful information wasn't meant to be so hard to decipher, My apologies for the encrypted message. The point was to do your research and buy a quality piece of equipment in the first place. Then you most likely will not be crying about the performance of the equipment. Maybe then you would not have to buy replacement equipment or modify it to make it work properly. :deadhorse1:

Those units aren't junk they work fine people are growing sps with them fine shut yourface ..... Bemind your business on what u think is junk just cause it cheap and fromchina doesn't make it junk heck most the stuff we buy is from china and then tripled in price
