Starting a new tank, 40L, with a sps focus.

Sump- 20H/fuge?

Lighting- Debating on Icecap 4-HO T-5's or 2 150 MH w/T-5.

T5 Bulb combo suggestions?

Skimmer- Reef Octo 160.

2x 6025.

Thats what I'm working with now. Anyone with a similar tank?

Got the tank drilled tonight, and decided on 4 T-5's after checking

out Sunny's thread. The tanks is 48x12x16.

I love those Icecap reflectors they really work well! I am running 8 of them and love the results.

Use a 660-009 Ice Cap so u can get over drive the bulbs . EG 54 watt equates to 80+ watts per bulb .

Make sure u cool the bulbs too .. Blow the air across the bulbs from the endcaps .. Don't over do the fans as it will make the bulbs act quircky .

Nope . No where near but an Aquasun comes to mind . The spectrum on the Fiji Purple is almost like blue and red. An aquaSun is more like a full spectrum 6500 k iwasaki if u get my drift . ATI pro color would be closer to the Fiji Purple for results . The ATI bulb is darn near all red . 610 nm .. These bulbs are good for bringing out the red colors in corals and helps with the yellow too .Come to think of it look doesn't the ulv 50/50 look pinkish or if you can look at the 75/25 bulb . I have never seen the 75/25.

Maybe u should wait until u need to order 6 bulbs . The cost to ship 1 bulb vs 6 is the same . The bulb looks funky when as a sa . Photo period ?? Anything pink purple or red looks way better . IME The corals take took almost a month to adjust . Other's report sooner time frames .I run shorter periods 7 hours a day then 10 hrs on weekends .

That's a nice looking stand. It appears to be very strong as well. Those huge doors are nice, too.

I imagine that you have a matching canopy?

A buddy of mine built it for me at material cost, Thanks Walt (the

canopy is soon to follow.) I'm playing with the sump

arragement/top off and rock now.

It would sorta look like this . I have not reinstalled photo shop on 64 bit OS .. Vista . Still have not bit it and copped SLR ..

ULV beside a blue + makes the ulv look washed out ..
