TBS LR - dread to hopeful

I am ordering some TBS LR this coming week and was dreading the Mantis wars that were bound to happen. All the things I've read and heard about people trying to catch and dispose of these critters puts me in mind of Bill Murray in Caddyshack after that gopher. Visions of myself with plastic explosives (ala aforementioned Murray) planted in LR holes running through my head...

I came to this board section looking for ways to trap them out, but after reading all your posts and looking at your pics (they are cute little buggers) I hope I actually get one to keep in my spare tank.

Call me a convert - now I want one. Gatorade really put me over the top. Awesome wee beastie, awesome name.

Well i wanted some Mantis with my TBS rock, sadly to say, my first half did not have any mantis. I did get a pistol and a gorilla crab.

the 2nd half is coming next week, hopefully i'll get some mantis with it.

LOL, it's amazing isn't it? My little guy has his own 40 gallon tank. Not really necessary as he's under 3" but that was the only tank I had when he became available. He seems to travel the whole tank so I can't bear to put him in a smaller one.

Debi, that sounds like a nice home! I bet he is very happy with all that room. The spare I have is a 35 hex. I figure it'll make a comfortable home for a mantis.
