TD meter reading

I have just started adding the water to my tank coming through a RODI system. I have not attached the dual meter to the unit yet because the RODI is hanging outside and we are having terrible weather. Soo, to measure what I am putting into a Brute can (where I also mix the water and salt) I put the out electrode into the can and am reading between 750 and 850 ppm. Can someone help me out on this?

fresh. I am sure there is salt residue. I'll check salinity on that barrell. Would salt cause my issue?

Do you completly remove the old salt water that was in the brute can?
I have found traces of saltwater left in the can will cause a high reading of tds when measuring the can water itself since the bits of salt in the water is highly conductive.
What does the meter say if you collect some of your rodi straight into a cup of water ?

Wow, something must be wrong, my tds is very high at 430ppm before filter.
Could your meter be bad?
I agree, run some in a glass and test

Not sure how it would be affected but when installing the probes inline the two sensors contacts have to be perpendicular to the flow. and it has to have flow going over it to read correctly. I don't know if you just insert them into a cup of water it would read correctly.

Any one know if this makes a difference?

Not sure, i use a manual cheap tds meter so i can measure small amounts in a cup before i add to brute can. Only because ive done this for 10 years before the inline meters became popular.

I'm sorry .False alarm.:headwalls:
I rechecked my supply and got 55
Then checked product before it hit the tank in a new and rinsed measuring cup.
It fluctuates between 0 to 1 ppm. I can live with that.
And after I just ordered a new HM hand held TD meter.

Once the water leave's the unit it will start to accumulate TDS, not that they're harmful
