TDS levels

I just purchased my 1st TDS meter this week along with replacement filters for my ro-di unit. It was right around, maybe a little bit overdue for my carbon, 5 micron, and di granule change. I purchased the HM TDS-3 handheld meter from filterdirect.com and tested my top-off water before changing filters and it was 12 ppm, after replacing filters it was 0 ppm, and then tested tap water which was 310 ppm. I live in the city of Ann Arbor, MI by the way. So I was happy to finally see the signifigance of an ro-di unit. Just curious to see what other peoples levels are from different places.

THanks, Jeff

Hey thats not bad.

I got a question what levels are considered acceptable for use, 0-5 ppm?

I personally will switchout my RO/DI filters once TDS goes above 3

Thanks for the info, now that I have the meter it will be alot better than saying "hey it's been awhile since I replaced the filters".

Dhnguyen, I've seen you posting on here quite a bit so I got another question while your answering my questions. I bought some vinegar to soak my pumps in, what would you recomend as far as rinsing goes before I put them back in the tank?

Thanks again!
