tech diving classes?

any one know of any places to get deep/ tec diving in the ft lauderdale area?
i want to take some deep diving classes and possiably underwater welding and such ( iv been diving alot over hte past 3 or 4 years. several times a month)
and i want to join the navy as a diver but want outside tec training to further my chances of being able to get the 'job'

Hi,

Just as an FYI, underwater welding and things like that aren't really considered tech diving, that would be commercial diving.

Tech diving is generally considered to be beyond the recreational limits set by the major agencies (PADI, NAUI etc.) So decompression diving to depths greater than 130' or staying within the depth limits for longer than the recreational tables allow.

Have a look at IANTD and TDI for tech training.

yeah cant find any info for tec localy. i know there is a commercial diving place on the other side of florida .

Go to www.iantd.com and use the instructor search feature. I did a quick search and showed 3 instructors in the Fort Lauderdale area, I'm sure there are more in other comunities. TDI probably has a similar feature on their site too.
