Tell me your experience with Deepwater Aquatics DC Pumps

I realize this is a somewhat old thread, but perhaps someone out there will see this and have an answer. I just saw someone selling a Deepwater DC12 BLDC pump used and wondered if it would be too much for what I am hoping to upgrade to with my tank if a few months. I am planning to get a 180 peninsula tank with a 70g or 90g sump located in the cabinet just below the DT. Any advice on whether this pump is a good idea or not for my future situation? Thanks in advance!

FWIW-- I ran a DC 10,000 on my 250 with no problems below top speed.
Then a 12,000, the same conclusion.
The nice thing is the variable speed option & lower wattage by doing so.
GO FOR IT!

It is probably more flow than you need, depending on you overflow, drain setup and sump design. The good thing is you can control it. I am still using the DC10 and I am very happy with the choice. It has been 100% reliable so far. It has only been 3 years so time will tell how long it really holds up. I have only cleaned the intake screen a few times in the 3 years I have had it. I should pull it an give it a viniger bath as preventative maintainance.
