Temp issues and cooler weather

Well...I think the worst of the summer heat is over!
My system's been teetering all summer between 83 and 85 (much of it spent at 85) with occasional peaks of 87.

All-in-all, not too bad considering I have 700W of lighting and um-teen pumps for a 100 gal system (total) w/o a chiller.

With the slightly cooler weather we've been having, my tank is now running around 80-82. What a difference the cool nites have made. Feel like I dodged a bullet.

You guys noticing too?

My nano is hooked to a chiller so things there were mostly under control with a little help with fans. The new 90 gallon will be hooked to a sump running from a cool, ventilated basement so I might be able to get away without a chiller. We'll see what happens next summer

I got my chiller midsummer, but before that I was dumping RO icecubes in the sump every day to keep it below 85.

yea i have 880 watts over my 180 and What a difference in the heat,cool thing, i have had to put 2 heaters on already in the tank (the cool weather if deff. here), and have turned off 2 out of the small fans that i had running.......
(im ****ed OFF one of my heatrers broke only like a yr old)
now have 2-400 watt heatrers , hope its enough in the winter last winter was JusT enough(considerering the 2-400 are heating 400++ gallons of water)

TA, I actualy "BIT-THE BULLET" this summer My tank took a hard hit. I was a bit embarrased and sad at the meeting Ihosted, because my tank was in such bad shape despite all the best intentions, water quality, lighting , and husbandry........

Sometimes you just have to let nature run it's course to have a "rebirth"... as I'm hoping I'll have when the tank is re- established

Luckily the new place I'm moved into has central air.

NO MORE HEAT ISSUES ! YAY !
