Temperate Sea stars

I just added five A. Vulgaris sea stars to my temperate reef tank and am wondering if anyone else has experience with temperate sea stars. I drip acclimated them for a good 6 hours and they don't seem to have any symptoms of shock. Specifically, I'm wondering about feeding. I know that adults eat mussels and juveniles eat periwinkles (which my tank is full of) but tropical stars seem to eat anything that's put in front of them and I was wondering if this was true for my coldie stars as well.

Steve Weast (username Steveweast) has a coldwater tank with sea stars in it, I think he mentions feeding them in one of his many tank threads. Do a search on his name or coldwater and read through those, if you haven't already. The pictures are beautiful.

They will eat any meaty food. I usually just collect small mussels to feed mine, as they are cheap

It depends on the star....some will accept dead meaty food while others only will eat live clams/mussels/oysters. I just throw a bunch of live clams in there from the Asian market and let them eat when they want.
