Tennenti Tang not eating

I have had a 6" Tennenti Tang in QT (20g TTM) for 7 days now, and he has not ate a thing. He otherwise appears normal, no visual signs of parasites and body/fins look great. I see him swimming around occasionally, but generally (vast majority of the time) he just hides, gliding freely in a large PVC connector hiding place.

I have tried Nori (both regular and garlic enriched), both on a clip and chopped up finely. I have tried frozen brine also. No luck, he doesn't seem interested at all.

I dosed PraziPro two days ago, just in case. No change in behavior from that.

Any ideas or concerns I should consider? How long can a fish generally go without eating?

Take the Nori and rubberband it to a small piece of PVC pipe and put it in the bottom of the tank. It may not be use to the clip. Did you ask the person you purchase it from what they were feeding it? Also I like to get fish eating before dosing PP, because it is known sometimes to suppress appetites. Have you tried Mysis and any flake food?

I will try the nori rubberbanded to a piece of rock and see how he likes that.

It came straight from a distributor, so no way to no if/what it was eating before.

I also generally wait until eating to dose PP, but I was worried maybe there was an issue with flukes. I will be doing a transfer tomorrow morning so won't have PP present anymore.

I have not tried mysis nor flake food. I will try mysis tonight.

I am wondering if he may actually be eating very slightly and I am just not noticing. Can a fish go this long and still act and look normal? It has been 8 days now.

Yes, they can go for awhile not eating, but IMO, you want him to start eating soon. Does he go around the tank pecking at stuff, like the PVC pipe or the bottom of the tank?

No, he just swims in place inside the PVC attachment. no pecking at anything.

i have seen him swim around a couple times, but not pecking even then.

Sounds very similar to the behavior I observed with my Kole tang when he was in QT. I got him eating New Era Marine Grazer rings. Unfortunately, I don't think these are made any longer. :(

Edit: Looks like New Era was acquired by World Feeds last year. Their products are no longer available in the US as far as I can tell, but you can purchased the Marine Grazers from retailers in Canada (assuming they will ship to the US): http://www.jlaquatics.com/vitalis-mini-marine-grazer-fish-food-290-gram.html
