Terry's 180 Peninsula Reef build.

i like the open industrial look of nothing in the stand.

I agreed. Looks great.

The only thing that I would look into is a way to enclose and hide your drain / return plumbing upstairs. Then a minimalist look will be completed.

Awesome job, Terry & Gary!

I love this hobby. Geek out, go crazy, or do almost nothing. Either way can work. Tom 's (the reef shoppe ) running tap water and plane Jane skimmer . You' ve bought all the toys Santa forgot to put under my tree. Congrats, i'd love to hear sales pitch that sold this project to the wife.

you can get corrugated black drain pipe to hide your plumbing and wiring. I seen over with the lawn pipe. Under 20 bucks.
Tank looks AWESOME Terry

I think i would just put a panel on the inside of the stand at the end with the piping. the rest of the stand would still be open but the pipes would be blocked.

Or a side not deep cabinet made of formica dark wood grain or even using same flooring boards that you used. In the cabinet you can hide plumbing and have a couple of shelves for cleaning supplies and dry foods.

I was laying in bed thinking about the stand last night. I think I am going to frame it out in some 3-4" trim (either white, or light grey like the walls), with "walls" between each section, with the center and right section wide open and the left section closed with a door for the electronics etc. That way, you will never see the plumbing unless you walk around the back of the tank, and I have a place to keep things.

Thank you!

Here's a bit of an update... I've been talking about doing something with the stand for ages, I finally got around to it this weekend. I will prime and paint it the same color as the walls this weekend
