Thank You PMAS!

Yes- that is one reason why I bought frags from him- rather than other vendors. Even my 15 y.o caught on to the "lighting" used by many at the swap. He suggested that we take a brown Digi frag from home ( since we have too much anyhow) and put it under the light to see how abnormally enhanced those corals were by the lighting.

kerusso316 has been moved on. Hard to believe but true.

Did anyone get a card or e-mail or number?

Thanks,
Kevin

You could then give it a fancy name and sell it for $40 per 1/4 inch frag!!!

It is really irritating that they do this, you have no idea what you are buying. This should hurt their sales rather than help........

well it did- I was ready to buy more ( had an extra $100) - but I could not actually tell what anything looked like, or would look like in my tank - so was not going to buy. The retail place we went to was disappointing to say the least. I hope the second place was better for you guys that went.

The first place was terrible.

The second place was better, but next time we may just skip the stores. Both were shadows of their former selves. I would have rather been home 3 hours earlier!

Well I guess I made the right decision then. It was nice having the little clowns all tucked in their new temporary home and the corals in the rack/rock/sand by 7pm. Watched the recorded Masters Tournament for a few hours even.

Yes, the first place was a real disappoinment and SC looked like a new company that just opened their doors.

I can't really complain about the frags I purchased from the swap. That being said, I was only looking for zoa's and paly's. It would definitely had been harder if I were in the market for SPS.

There was also another vendor using halides over his display next to the concession stand. He had a lot of very nice SPS and I was thinking about purchasing a very nice rainbow monti but figured it would brown out in my holding tank. I had a brief conversation with him and he swore by halides and didn't even want to touch LED's. He said he currently has 13 halides running in house.

BTW, here are pics for those that were unable to go:

Hey, those zoas in top left of first pick with red ring...what are they? I have a colony of them I've had for over a year now.

... zoanthids with a red ring. I really hope you weren't asking for some BS name for them. I can invent one if you'd like. Hmm. Explosive Poked Out Eye Reds. TM.

K, So I popped the Q in the C-Sea Forum and the clown vendor was Booyah Aquatics out of Chicago.

You can count on Booyah Aquatics being a regular vendor at future C-Sea swaps. At least that was what he told me, and that he was very happy with the organization and operation of our swap. Chances are also good they will be at the CORA swap in the Columbus Ohio area in October'ish of this year. THe CORA bunch is a good club. I'm doing my Great Barrier Reef Presentation to their group this Saturday, I can chirp in their ear to find out tentative date for their swap if any of you are interested?
