Hey, I just wanted to thank you guys again...I have never ben given such great deals before....probably never will again, i will surely be going back as often as I can!!! I hate to even write this , but, I have never been so disappointed as I was today in my trip to aquatic critter....1.5 hour drive and due to one employee, I just dont know If I can ever go back...But, I will probably...just extremely disappointing.......Emerald Bay made up for it entirely! I am loving the Hawaiian male Flame wrasse....I still cant believe you guys gave him to me...well, pretty much,...

That's a shame, I think that the employees at AC are great with me everytime I go.

You should head up to Creative Aquatics in Owensboro, Keith is AWESOME and has the best prices on corals (and food, used tanks, etc, etc) that I've ever seen. Check out their site first, the are open late in the day and Saturday, but with your location it's just as close as AC is, if not closer.

Sometimes you have to right that off as a fluke. The AC has always been very helpful to me when I go. Maybe you just caught someone having a bad day.

maybe....but, when you drive 1.5 hours you know, when that happens it is pretty sad.....Im the kind of guy as well, having this bad experience, that, I will spend my money elsewhere.....I mean, it is still a great store, and I recommend it to anyone, but, I just dont know if I will go back....Anyways, So, the male Hawaiian flame wrasse i got is awesome!!!! He eats like a pig already, he ate in the store in front of me, and has great personality!! A great reef addition!

Sometimes at AC they are so busy, it is hard to get help.
Especially this time of year when a bunch of noobs who haven't done their research come in and want to pick up a Nemo for a goldfish bowl... no, seriously, I saw someone ask for that (and not be given it).

I'm not sure what issue you had at AC, but the vast majority of their employees are very good people with certainly more knowledge than your average fish store/pet store employees. That said, there are a few dimwits and I learned to just avoid them (or more accurately, seek out the guys I like). Also, the dimwits have generally not stayed at the store for all that long. Of course, I used to be in there once a week easily, so one experience wasn't very likely to have too much of a bad effect on my opinion of the store either.

I agree there were one or two "underlings" who really werent that great. But if you talk to chris( the store owner) or Ken. Thats years of experience between those guys and they would almost give you the shirt off their back.

I had a similar experience at AC, and being a ravenous boycotter did not go there for a long time, but I inevitably got over it and occasionally go there. I shop at both places, I avoid fins, but that is another story. I do like the experience at EBay better though, less traffic means more face time, which is important for me when I am adding something to my reef.

I am sorry to hear you had a rough time. It sucks when you get disappointed like that. Glad to hear you have a good one elsewhere to balance your day out.

I can not say enough about Chris at the Critter. He actually did me a favor last night and did some work for me after hours. He was going to actually drive some supplies to my house on his day off but our schedules did not meet up. I have good experiences with the rest of the staff as well. I have heard a few horror stories, but probably less than too be expected in these days of poor customer service.

I am not trying to belittle anyone's issues with this, just stating my positive experiences.

I know mike, i mean this is the only bad one i have had after many trips there....but...when you drive 1.5 hours it amplifies it lol...I will be back...one day....

After that drive I'd be in a foul mood if I stepped in gum in the parking lot. Man, I need to up my meds I guess. :)
