Which controller was it? Single or duel stage? What did you have plugged into it? I have a 250W heater and 5 fans plugged into mine, I hope I don't have the same problems you did, I spent $100 for this thing, and I really like it.

How many gallons would say that waist collector holds?

Is it easy to adjust your skimmer with that air valve? I would think it would be really touchy.

I run a Sunlight Supply Blue Wave 7 dual 250w HQI ballast with 2 Sunlight Supply Reef Optix I (SE) pendants, the bulbs are 250w 20k Radiums. They have a very 14k look since the HQI ballast overpowers the SE bulb, they are not overly blue.

Dual stage. I had 1 200w heater on one end and 1 small cheapo walmart an on the other, definately did not overload it.

The waste collector will hold 1.2 gallons (I did the math).

I don't touch the air valve at all, just set it perfectly, now and then you'll have to make tiny adjustments to the gatevalve but nothing drastic, it stays pretty constant for me.
