Thanks Gabriel, It's just another day at OSU... They don't have wireless so the nurse hooked me up with a PC in Russell's room. They are great here!

Well, we have our first major problem... The sump cracked for whatever reason. My husband epoxy it for now. He will be building another out of acrylic. Soon! :)

Hi. I'm jumping from the quoted post above. I have not read the rest.

But I noticed that one side of the fuge tank is resting on the glass of that skimmer/return tank that cracked. I think the weight of the fuge tank was putting a lot of stress on that side of that skimmer/return tank glass, hence the stress crack, compounded by the hole and the vibration of the pump. Just my engineer's opinion :)

Other than that, AWESOME setup. Thanks for sharing.

Mike

Micki,
Thanks for the update. I've been out for awhile (work) and didn't get a chance to keep up. I'm very sorry to hear about the latest tribulations. Remember, you and your family are always in my prayers. You are not alone, you have a great family for support.

Take of yourself, as well. It will do nobody any good if you don't.

One thing I always come back to when I'm having troubles is the poem Footprints In The Sand. Especially the line "... it was then that I carried you."

Kevin, thank you for the prayers, we certainly are saying ours in over time. I love foot prints! I know for sure I as well as our family is being carried right now.

carrera mike, Yep, you are correct. That was a few years ago and we have a new system in place, but thanks for your thoughts.

Best wishes for you and the young fella. It's good to hear that the op may go ahead soon. It would be alot to go through at such an age, must be very brave :)

wow....

just took me two days to read the entire post, and I am sorry to see that the latest posts are about your son in the hospital and your thoughts of tearing down the tank.

I am a doctor, and can understand what your son is going through. Sounds like he definitely needs surgery and possibly a lung transplant.

In any case, your entire post has been uplifting and I am sure that soon we will all be back getting updated pictures from you soon, after all is well with your son.

When things are calmer, here is my post to look at sometime.

Keep us updated!

Thanks everyone... This has been such a roller coaster... We actually came home last night. Russell is on oxygen and a Bi-Pap machine. It was a battle to get the insurance company to agree to pay for the Bi-Pap machine. The Dr's have been talking to each other as to weather he should have the surgery or not. The surgeon is starting to come around a bit. After his pulmonologist explained some of the history the surgeon looked at things a little different. The pulmonologist drew a picture of what he feels needs to be removed and it made a lot more sense as to why the two Dr's weren't on the same page. So the plan is we see the surgeon on March 5. We see the pulmonologist March 7. Russell turns 24 March 8! He will most likely have another pulmonary functions test as well as a VQ scan. Based on those results the surgeon will make a decision. The cultures from his scope last Friday grew a few different pneumonia bugs but they are colonized. The surgeon wanted him on antibiotics anyway. Which is fine with us. I tend to agree with his pulmonologist that he needs the surgery. However his lungs are in such bad shape that the risk is so scary. Please understand this is the shortened version of a very long week.

nmbeg, you are correct, he will most likely need a transplant at somepoint in his life. I'll check your thread out sometime.

Hard to respond to that Micki. Not much that can be said other than that we are sending you our love. You are sorely missed on DR!

Thanks Jonathan, Some day things will calm down and I can get back to DR as well as the other threads here. I'm feeling pretty overwhelmed right now.

Prayers continuing for you and the whole family Micki. I can't imagine how difficult this must be for everyone.
Hang tough--we are still holding you up.
Rita

Thanks Marc and Rita. I appreciate all the thoughts and prayers. They are making a difference. My husband went to pick up the antibiotic the docs from OSU want him on and the insurance is refusing to pay for that. So we are in another battle...

That figures. I have an extremely capable advocate if you need it. Got me retro, got one of my employees' sons retro'd back to birth. He is a Disability expert.

Thanks Jonathan I'll keep that in mind for future reference. I did just got a call from the pharmacy that OSU contacted the insurance and they were able to get it ran through. The crazy thing is when they refused to pay for the Bi-pap that kept him in the hospital another 24 hours. Keep in mind he was in step down which is one level under ICU so the $$ for that unit is high! I would guess they could have paid for a few Bi-Pap machines for what it cost them to keep him in step down for that 24 hours. Kind of crazy...

Thanks for keeping us updated, I've been worried about you and your Family. Take care of your self and as you can see we are all keeping you and your family in our payers !
