Changes look very nice.

Changes look very nice.

Hello again Micki the tank changes look very nice, and I am glad to hear the fragging process is going well. Do you have a price list for the frags/macro that you have? By the way Secondgen=Matt's brother David. Just wanted to say hi and see how things are going. All sounds well. See ya

Secondgen, Hi there and thanks. LOL I really don't have a price list. PM me if interested in anything particular. I was hoping to do some work on the tank tonight with the zoas, but that didn't happen. I know I have yellow polyps for sure and I will have some different zoas. I think the torch's are spoken for.

thanks for stopping in and tell Matt I said hello! :)

Hi Micki, Tank is looking great. I was wondering where you bought that large filter canister for $11? I thought I saw those at Lowes or somewhere for around $30 but maybe that was with some filters...

Thanks! You are correct! The same thing at Lowes for $30.00! Here is where I got mine.

Well, my tank will be a year old on February 27, I can't believe it! :) I have struggled with PO4 with every tank I have had. Yesterdays test FINALLY show 0 yes that is ZERO on the PO4! I of course will continue ti use phosban. I will be excited to take some happy birthday pictures!

Marc, I never thought I would get to "0"! Now I just hope it stays that way... :)

I finally got my phos test kit in the other day. First test showed zero! So what is the best way to keep it zero without phosban? I have macro growing really well in my fuge, and am feeding very lightly right now, mostly frozen food and some coral vibrance. Very rarely a little flake food for the clownfish.

I would say if it reads 0 and you haven't been doing anything to keep it down (phosban etc.) then leave it go and test every few weeks or so.

If it ain't broke don't fix it! :)

We should start a celebratory thread for all people that have fought the battle and won the PO4 war. ;)

Congrats!:celeb2: :celeb3:

He also added outside tubes so I would know how high the water is.

I had a question about this... I use a 44gal Rubbermaid Brute trash can that I use to mix salt water in... I was mixing some salt the other day and I thought back on what you did with the tubes on the outside and were thinking about doing this on my water change trash can... If I make a hole near the bottom and put a 90deg barb fitting like you did on your Poly tank then connect a clear tube to it when I fill up the can I would be able to see the water level in the can (but from the outside... So if I took a 2gal bucket and dumped in 6 of them (12gal) where ever the water fills up to in the clear tube would be 12gal and I could mark that spot so next time I could just keep dumping in water (without counting) until it reached that mark and every time I would get 12gal, correct ??

Can you tell me more about how the 90deg barb is fitted to the Poly tank ??

asnatlas, Yes that is correct the amount you you put in would be the 12 gllons plus maybe an extra 2 ounces to make up the for the tube space. Now the problem with what you want to do is in the thickness of your trashcan. It'sprobably not thick enough to tap to. Sounds like what you might need to do is use the same 90 deg barb fitting and put a hole in the garbage can. Then get a 1/2 inch threaded male flange nut (like would be on the outside of a toilet tank). Next use a 1/2 inch female threaded PVC adapter coupling on the inside of the trash can. Then thread your 90 deg barb fitting on to the coupling, pinching the trash can in between. Make sure you silicone ecerything good too. Also make sure the wire tie hole is all the way at the top of the trash can. If you have questions let me know and I'll try to better explain.

I have a RO/DI holding container that we had to do this to and it works fine. :)

asnatlas, I can take a picture of the fittings I was talking about if that woud help you out. I have an extra set here. Just let me know.

If you don't mind :)

I was thinking about adding a Uniseal and then attach a 90deg to that and some clear tubing... That is what I had in mind but would like to see your idea as well...

asnatlas, I'll attach a picture of the fitting I was talking about. However, my husband looked at your link and said that would work as well. He has never used one but thought it looked pretty cool! :)

I am getting ready to do the same upgrade(55 to 125) what are you using for flow in the tank? I dont see any powerheads
Sorry, I've been gone all day. Marinelife is partially correct. I just use the main return. I don't for see getting a wave box. :)

Actually my Blue Line HD pump is pretty incredible. One of my goals was to NOT have any powerheads in the main tank. I think I have succeeded in meeting that goal and getting good water flow.
