Sorry, I'm a noob to tanks over 24 gallons, but what sort of maintenance do you have to do on your tank?

My tank is now about 1 1/2 years old now. I think we have it down to a good pattern. We do 90 gallon monthly water changes. We also change the phosban every 3-4 weeks and change carbon every month. I scrape the glass a few times per week. Other than that nothing. :)

How's that digital camera working? Some updated pictures would be nice! :bum: :p

Posted a few posts back. :)

I will try to make a good effort to take some. We are in the middle of remodeling out house and I have pretty much focused on that for the past few months.

I did get new lights for the tank yesterday. I went with Hamilton 14K MH bulbs this time. I LOVE the look! I still have 4 PC actinic lights. The combination is just what I've been looking for!

I started out with 10K bulbs. Too yellow. The next set was 14K XM lighting. I liked it but still a little dark for me. This set is bright white with a hint of blue. Perfect for my taste! :)

You don't want to know!

Seriously, it all depends on what you want. If you want coral what kind? SPS you will need MH lighting, LPS you can get by with PC, T5 etc. lighting. Are you going fish only? You can get by with NF lighting. Will you have a sump and fuge? If so will it be housed under the tank or will you plumb it into a different room. Do you want a stand and canopy or just the tank. Many questions would have to be answered before you would know what the cost would be. Personally with a tank that size my first equipment would be a RO/DI unit. That would be a must in my opinion. Decide what you want and go from there. :)

I think the average if you want the full shabang is about $25-$35 a gallon. That can change depending on how much DIY you can do or how high end the equipment you buy is.
