You know i think you might be right, never thought of it that way!
think i better get on it and set that up!

Let us know how it goes! ;)

Barring UPS can get it delivered today, we will be hooking an Ozone unit up to our system. The fish in the 150 are big messy eaters and a LFS friend of ours thinks this would be a good thing to do. Since the entire system is hooked together we have decided it would be a wise investement to do this. I'll post pictures when we get it. According to UPS, it is "out for delivery". I guess we will see. :) We finally have SNOW in Ohio!!! We are supposed to get 12 more inches today! :D

Micki, I have just got caught up on your thread. For a while I wasn't getting any email updates and them bam a ton of them. I just read like the last 5 pages. I really like the second setup. I am totaly envious!! I don't know if you remember or not but a while ago I was having trouble with nitrates, you and Mark (melv) were helping me out. I am happy to say that the nitrates are gone! My new problem is that with all the water changes and no calc. or dkh testing I am headed for a tank crash, I fear. So I have started dosing with tech cb a and b. Hope to keep the calc. and dkh from fluctuating so much between water changes.

I purchased another 75 gallon tank to turn into a sump for my first 75 gallon tank. I do not have a reef ready so some of the plumbing isn't looking as nice but oh well. I am looking at this as a great starter knowledge base! I hope to one day have something as excellent as yours. I have been able to keep corals and grow them so excited about that. I just bought a blonde naso tang and a Hawaiian (sp) 4 Line Wrasse. They are doing real well. I didn't realize that the Naso should be about the last tang you add being that they are aggressive. Sorry for rambling on but I am getting excited again about the marine hobby. Was ready to wrap it all up and call her quits. There is a guy that has a coral farm in New Albany, Ohio. Quite a drive for you, I know. But this guy sat down with me and laid everything out for me, information wise, and said ask as many questions as you want. Anyway, Todd (Reefsystems owner) is got me back on track. His web page is www.reefsystems.com if you haven't already heard of him. He has awesome stuff. Still rambling, I know.. Sorry congrads on another awesome project!!!!!

Jeff:cool:

Jeff, Thanks! I'm not sure why the e-mail notifications work sometimes and not other times. It happens to me as well. Having said that, thank you for taking the time to catch up! :) I do remember you were having some problems a while back. I'm glad you have that all straightened out now, congrats! That can be a challange. It sounds like you have your "new" problem under control or at least getting a grip on it. :) If your corals are growing you must be doing something right. :D

I'm glad you didn't give up and please feel free to ramble on as you say (although I don't see it as that :) ) as much as you would like. I actually talked to Todd once when I was checking into getting some rock from him. I had planned on going there but was able to get some rock from a LFS a little closer. Had Joel not been able to get what I needed I would have made the trip to reefsystems. I would still like to get over there just not during the blizzard. :) If you have a thread started for your system feel free to post it on here. I would love to take a look!

Thanks again and keep up the good work!!!

Thought about starting a thread but not familiar with posting of the pictures and things of that nature. I may start one once I have assembled all the pieces for my sump. I am really only lacking a good skimmer. Going to have to pay dearly for that piece. The extra 75 gallon tank, I found for 50 bucks. Could not pass that opp. up! As I was typing the last book, my 2 year old thought it would be a good idea to feed the fish. A whole can of formula one!!! I could of killed him!!!!! I got out the fish net and was able to get the majority of it. Hope the clean up crew will finish the rest :-(
I can not believe how fast the skimmers sell on here. I was looking at the sale stuff and almost everything on here was posted and sold today.. Or just way to much skimmer for what I need. Reef Systems is going to start making skimmers for a lot less than everyone, he said.. May just hold off until he gets his up and going this weekend. I think that's when he said the demo one would be running. If you are ever up this way you need to be sure and stop in there. I can't believe what he has done with his garage and the green house he built, AMAZING!

Bed time, I think..

Jeff

Maybe our club will make a trip over there. :)

Having closed tanks (and taller tanks) is a plus! LOL

After a long delay with the weather and UPS, I picked the ozone unit up myself at UPS last night. My husband installed it and it's going good!

Micki, I am still tagging along and watching your progress. Love the new tank.
Hope you got yourselves dug out of all this snow.:) We are still digging out up here in NE Ohio.

We will be setting up our 125 to run soon and are just working on the plumbing--through the wall to the next room. I know you have the same interests as I do.....love the tangs and love the seahorses!
Our erectus just had babies over two weeks ago.
Great job on the ozone install too. Thank goodness for our hubbies that help us gals out with all this ---I couldn't do this without mine....And I'm not ashamed to admit it:D

arbee Thanks! Glad to hear you're still tagging along. We have about 16 inches of snow and I think getting more tomorrow! Personally I LOVE IT!!! :)

When you get your 125 started post a link to your thread on here. I would like to follow along! I'm not ashamed to admit either, I couldn't do any of this without my husband. I wouldn't have known where to begin! :D

Micky, I do have a thread started--kind of a "panic-what the heck am I doing" thread but will use it to keep track of our progress.
Willy Nilly is the game here, but I need to get organized and focused. These erectus babies came at a bad time and all I do is hatch BBS and change water in way too many tanks while trying to get this big tank set up.

Reminds me of having my kids as infants and me running around spinning plates to keep everything going LOL

I love the snow too--just happy I don't have to be out in it and can enjoy if from my windows :) OK, now after saying that, I am officially ready for SUMMER!

Oh, the thread link!

Any new pictures of the new set up? I love those fish!

forget the tank, I love the equipment room!!!
You are so right, I love Micki's fish workroom too.
I know I get claustrophobic when I think about having to fiddle and work under a tank stand when you may be lucky enough to have all the space to be utilized in another room. I can only dream about having such a place ---but I am going to try my best :)

The sump room was my husbands idea. I'll have to take some pictures of the room in it's entirety. The first few pictures in this thread was what it looked like prior to the sump room. It's been nice to have it all out of the way. Never say never. Heck I didn't even think I would own a salt water fish let alone the set up I have! :)
