The 24 Gallon Nano lives again……

With the blessing of a snow day figured I would use the time to take update pics of tank

Lighting: Aquaillumination Sol
So far the lighting is great. I have noticed some growth in the SPS already and all corals have colore up very nicely.
I have gradually increased the percentage for 25% W to 45% W over the course of the last few weeks. Increased the B/RB from 30% to 55%

Schedule for lighting:
T1: 9am W4% B---- RB--- No moon Ramp of 60min
T2: 1pm W35% B43% RB 45% No moon Ramp of 80min
T3: 4pm W40% B55% RB 50% No moon Ramp of 90min
T4: 8pm W15% B8% RB8% No moon Ramp down of 100min
T5: 11:00pm W2% B3% RB3% No moon Ramp down 5min
T6: 11:15pm Moon Cycle Same percentages listed for 11pm.

Looks great! Did you cut out the egg crate before adding the MP20 or did you just put it right over the existing egg crate?

Cut out the eggcrate before adding foam. Placed a old glass drinking cup with same diameter inside opening them sprayed the foam and let cure. When cured for 24 hours removed cup.

Noticed a few days ago that one of my cleaner shrimp is holding eggs. Now if the clowns start that would really make my day.

Tried again with the camera to get shrimp pics. They are not the best but it gives you an idea.

I heard not many if any will survive without setting them up in a breeding system. I have already taken my filter sock off for the night as I anticipate for her to release them tonight. I can see little black dots in all of the eggs now(heart/eyes?). I'm hoping maybe a couple or one might make it in the refugium.

I also noticed the other shrimp carrying eggs as well.

Last night I spend about 4 hours sitting in my chair watching my shrimp releasing the shrimp babies. Unfortnatly, many of them lived a VERY short life as they were quickly consumed by the other fish.
She started releasing a few of them about 1/2 hour before the AI dimmed all the way to the moonlight cycle then it got hard to see as there was very little light. I was able to rig up our flash light with a red filter and watched the process that way.

I know I could have turned the lighting dial up but I was afraid to spooking the shrimp and messing up the process.

I am trying to get the video to load up but its taking some time. I will repost when I have it --uh flicker.......

Sorry that you cant see the eggs being released as it only a few in this shot. When the main birthing process was in full swing it was entirely to dark to capture footage. The red light flash light didn't provide enought light to make a good video. But it was a sight I am glad I stayed up to watch.

Cant get the video to load when the hubby gets up I will see if he can have better luck.-sorry

Dukeap-I ordered the light (AI) from Premium Aquatics. I got the Sunpod from a ebay seller.

Well I relieve I haven't updated in a while so I figured I would document the changes that have occured.
-reaquascaped, got rid of the massive rock in the front. Made two arches that prop into the back wall.
-Removed about 10 lbs of LR from sump to allow more room for the cheto to tumble and grow.
-Added a few more acans, SPS frags and mushrooms
-Added a Green Bubble Tip Anemone

Sorry about the dirty glass and crappy photos. Waiting on my new Nibble to ship and well the camera I blame the operator (me) for not knowing how to use it and get the white balance right
