The 300 has begun

In my tank, the temp is from 78-82. The heater is set for 79 degrees and in the day, the halides bring it up to 82.

I notice that my fish gets sluggish and don't eat much if the temperature is 76 or lower.

It is possible that temperature might do it but when I moved the corals from the 120 I purchased, it was down to 74 for about 1 hour. We were trying to keep them warm but with that many corals and fish, it was too hard. They all made it though.

I lost a few things when we moved from our 90g to the 300g. I will chaulk most of them up to unfamiliarity with the new tank, and the fact that no matter how much seasoned rock and sand I put in the new tank I am still basically dealing with a new system.
I will probably have to wait 5-6 months for it to establish itself to the level that my 90g was.

This is a more likely explanation.

Well here's some pics of some of my corals.

That's a juvi Naso behind the purple. Ever since I have put him into the tank he has never lost the stressed pattern. I also have a Vlamingi. Purple 2", Naso 2.5", and Vlamingi 1.5".

I finally fixed my micro bubble problem. It was the outlet on my skimmer. I changed it to the "T" pipe outlet mod and woohoo, no more bubbles. Here's some pics. This is skimmate for 12 hours.

Good luck on seeing the fish. They're so small they feel like they are back out in the ocean. :D

Man how do theses pictures look to you? do the colors look off? I did them on my laptop and when I look at them on my desktop they look like they are way over saturated. Let me know what they look like with yours. Thanks.

I think you need more corals and fish in your tank. I know you have a bunch but things look very bare.

When you have to point out where your fish is, it is too small for the tank. :)

Looks GREAT Red, but I agree with vanmle you definitely need more life in there! But other than that it's AWESOME!

I suppose on the flip side as far as corals and such go, it's always nice to start with frags and watch things grow in... This has always been one of my favorite things about this hobby, watching the fruits of our labor come to fruition!

Yep, they are small but just want them to grow up together. Same with the corals. Almost all of mine are going to start from frags. Don't worry, before you know it, it will be full of fish and corals. :D

Did you get your canopy built yet? I'm interested to see that woodworking too :)

I agree with the above, IMO its more fun to watch things grow up instead of having everything start out big. Especially in like a year when you can look back at the pictures from when it's first set up.

I'm waiting to build the canopy. My wife and daughter are here for the month so weekends are family time. That and I like the ghetto look. LOL
