The adventures of Boris

Well, last Thursday, I got a G. Platysoma. He ended up burrowing in the back of the tank, and I couldn't see him. Well, last night I did some rearranging and decided to start up this online "journal" of his musings, wanderings, and senseless murders.

Boris is now living in an apartment about 3" off the ground floor, and really doesn't like me. His room mate (aside from snails and hermits) is a bicolor pseudochromis that's been annoying me lately, and apparently is annoying Boris as well. I'm kinda surprised that he hasn't been slapped around yet.

Today, Boris got a new room mate. If DensityMan's Tim has to deal with ninja crabs, they must have known about Boris, and sent the big guns, because today, Boris woke up to none-other than Sumo, the sponge crab. Pictures are coming tonight. Boris is kinda scared...I just heard a chuckling coming from the tank, and it wasn't a mantis chuckle.

Finally! Pictures! Too bad I couldn't get one of Boris, he still likes to hide a lot (with just his beady little eyes peering out at me...) BUT! I did get a few shots of his adversary, Sumo...

He's about the size of a golf ball....

I wish it did. It's just an olympus of some sort that my girlfriend has...

Hahahahhaahahahaha, where did you get this crab? I need to find some nemsis for my g.platysoma to battle.

I got him at Uncle Bill's West (on 38th st). They had one there a few months ago that was the size of a softball...


*update!* When I flipped on the light, Sumo was hiding in a corner and was white! I thought to myself "well, Boris sure took care of him quickly, thinking that he was missing his other side. I poked him with a chopstick, and boy, he sure wasn't dead! Almost thought he was going to eat the chopstick and crap toothpicks, but I guess he's just molting...

Boris better get on this, otherwise, he's gonna have a walking softball as a room mate.

Today, Sumo made a big, big mistake. I walk into the room to hear Boris plinking away at something, and look up just in time to see Sumo scampering across the tank. Apparently, he had ventured into Boris' home and upset the big green and grey mantis. He's kinda dumb though, because he went back over there, and got double fisted right between the eyes! He's now climbing the rockwork, and I bet he's got a wicked headache.

Looked in the tank this morning to find a wall where Boris' hole had been! Sumo must have scared him out of his skin yesterday! lol. We'll see how this goes...
