The Austrian Drop Off taken over by Acroporas

here two shots from yesterday!

like it when only the blue leds from the Hyperion are running!

and i wanted to share my mess of a sump :lolspin:
when i am getting near ULNS i will get rid of the chaeto

Cheers

What's acclimating in the box in the top left corner of the tank?????

Additionally, dont take this personally, but I hate you because your tank is stunning. You're in good company,(too many to mention), but I still hate you.

With love from the New World....

I like your style, lol..

Flo, I don't know how I missed that picture of your sump but that thing is a travesty compared to that display!! Good thing it's hidden ;) But that blue shot is looking great. Sunset is always such a relaxing time in most reefs.

In my reef the blues ramping down is when I have to distract or scare the Flasher wrasse so my poor firefish can dash to her rock without getting pecked at

Looking good Flo, just caught up with the last few pages. You say the acros lost some color but they all look great to me.
Ignore the aussies, they have to use their fancy black egg crate and weird frag plugs.
thanks mate! yes they lost some color and 2 have died out no reason for me... best is that my icefire is looking amazing and super PE
haha yes downunder :lmao:

Nice tech shot, Flo.
How long have you had your tunze level controller and how do you like it?
thanks Matt!
man i have it for two years now or even more! i also bought the Osmolator Switched Socket Outlet so i can use a normal eheim pump. works pretty nice...
but my plan or wish is to switch to full APEX...

I would definitely be shot if I had that much blue light in the living room my only condition on tanks is they're not allowed in the living room because the blue ruins the fung shui or something :wildone:
There's still some space in that cabinet too mate, you need to start suspending things from the roof of it
haha my better half isn´t that happy but we have enough "yellow" light to fight the blue one :lolspin:
haha that is the big disadvantage with the drop off... very limited space... but suspending from the roof is a good idea :D

Flo, I am seeing more and more drop off tanks popping up, both as hobbyist tanks and as retail type show tanks. Yours is by far and away the best one out of all of them that I have seen. Just awesome.
thanks Michael!! wow
i am trying to make it into something really special of the next few years hopefully :D

Same difference....
:D
hahaha jaja...

hahahaha yes it´s perfect to hide... i know it´s messi but i am a lazy piece of work :lolspin:
i love the blue times in my tank... thankfully i don´t have to distract any fishes with it

Cheers

Oh! I see. You've planned since frame build.
One thing I regret is not prepare my frame for things like that. Now it's too late, I have 500 kg of glass and water on top of it...:-)
Thks.

Getting ready for some serious Siporax action :lolspin:

Hi Flow.

About 2 years ago I've started with siporax and matrix and everyone I know told me that was no good because the residues that get accumulated. After a few months I've stopped since the amount of garbage was giving me to much work cleaning.
Lately and over international forums I hear everyone talking about siporax.

You have an amazing tank. Why do you feel the need to go with that?

Rgds,
AR

hey mate!

here it seems everybody is using Siporax and since my nutrients are elevated i need something to bring them down!

that is why ;)

thanks!

Flo

Hi Flo, I have Siporax set up in a reactor just as your showing. Tank is a 65 gal with 20 Long sump, ten fish, mixed reef. I CANNOT keep any nitrate in my tank at all, dosing potassium nitrate daily and by the morning back at zero on Red Sea test kit. I have about 1litre of Siporax, run carbon, small amount of GFO, dose Aquaforest products. My point is it works, maybe too well. Prior I ran about 10 on nitrates and 2 on PO4, now struggle to keep any nitrates and Po4 runs at 0.1. I'm reluctant to add more fish or feed more, already heavy, but I don't really want to remove the Siporax. In short it has been a great product for me. P.S. I just wash the Siporax about every three or four mos. in old water as I do a water change and put it back in.

But the AF system shouldn't take care of it?
but you have to give the bacteria some area where it can prosper!! => Siporax
