The bar over the Oceanic is it a issue?

I want to buy a 125 or 135 but I heard this bar is 18 inches wide!! Is this a issue with lighting? Does the light go threw it in a way that it helpe the coral below? Can you have a light right over it? Does it get all dirty with salt and heat from the liight? Also is it Glass?

It is glass and if it gets too hot it will brake.

Yes it will but you don't want to get it too hot.
It depends on what wattage light you use, how high you have it, fans, etc.

Im thinking 250's about 10 inches from the surface. Should I go with AGA?

I would just because you wonââ"šÂ¬Ã¢"žÂ¢t have anything in the center of the tank blocking the light.

The aga has 2 bars but only 3 inches and they are plastic.

If you use three 250 watt halides they wonââ"šÂ¬Ã¢"žÂ¢t be in the way. This is how my 180 is but I have 4 175 watt halides and none of them are blocked by the plastic strips.
I also modified the AGA hood to have plywood strips to cover the plastic to protect them from damage.

On the hood by AGA I would be getting the nice stand the Modern series. The back on the hood seem bigger the the Oceanic and would seem to go over more of the bank on the tank. What do you think?
