The best clam I've ever seen...

Bob, No question about it that the pattern and coloration is that of a colored TD maxima, the only thing that is throwing me off here is the way the mantle 'flaps' open and the shell. It appears to be a BIG clam. I am not at all 100% convinced it's a maxigas. I wish Dustin or Dave would throw their two cents in on this as well.

P.S. Bob, any pics of yours? Sounds killer.
 
Ali, still not in the pix business but maybe you'll recall seeing it at Anthony's last summer,Bob. BTW, I also lean toward T.maxigas. I wouls guess the clam pictured to be around 14":eek:
 
yeah I figured at minimum 10". I think it's safe to assume each branch on that acro is at absolute minimum 1/2" wide, about 20 branches. Big daddy.

Tried there but can't seem to find it. Can someone send me a link to the picture in question? I think it's the amazing multi-colored teardrop maxima. The wholly grail of all maximas. Thanks, Freed
