The Best from Brazil - 400G SPS Tank

Awesome tank/system, awesome thread!

Congratulations Carlos.

I was wondering how you like the 16x54w T5 bulbs compared to the 2x400w/4x54w halide/T5 combo ?

can't get enough of your tank carlos!!
thank you for sharing

doesn't all this growth create problems with shading corals and flow?
how do you deal with it?

Thank you, Glaukos.

Yes, it does. When the corals begin to touch and shade each other and some start to loose tissue at the base, that's when I have to trimm them down.

Hi , So on the siporax the water goes through it and where does the dirt go ?
Do they stick on the siporax ?

One of my favorites--very nice tank! What I love the most is the engineering and uniqueness behind your filter and the results show.

Thanks for sharing your system!

Janey,

Siporax was placed in plastic boxes, in vertical layers forming ducts (like a pipe). Since the boxes are suspended in the sump, with several holes in the bottom, water enters from the top through this "Siporax ducts", forcing dirt to settle at the bottom of the sump, where it'll be siphoned.

Many thanks Carlinhos,

Can you tell us what you feel is the biggest benefit of using the Siporax? I apologize if you have already explained this earlier, but I could not find where you explained why you use this product.

Many thanks

Tegee,

As I do not use sand to make the biology, I use siporax not accumulate debris.
