well, my water level is at 8" so I'm thinking of building another sump to get it at 10" and see if that makes a difference.
bobafet1...if I may give a suggestion here.
I don't know what your sump design looks like but if your interested in raising your water level in your sump, you maybe able to utilize a cheap Plastic Backstrip (used on glass canopies) like this one

that is of course assuming you have a sump divider that partitions the skimmer section from the return section of the sump....place it on the top rim of the divider and it will increase the water line a couple of inches

just a thought in the event you are not ready to build a new sump right away :p

My NAC7 is running a 9.5" and set around #3 on the adjusting tube. Is working like a pro. Heres some pics two days after cleaning it.

I'm gonna build soon as an upgrade a new lid for the bubble diffuser. It will be made with thicker acrylic and venturi style holes (like Mojo's skimmer) to see if it makes any change in performance. Something like this:

NICE sammy...! :D
but if I may ask, why the varying hole sizes in your revised BP design?

Thanks, that wasn't really finished at that moment. I made the holes slightly larger. The holes are the same diameter. Its just that some of them has the cone shaped hole and others don't. I'm pretty sure it will perform better having all with the cone shapes.

cet98-thanks for this i was about to ask a question similar to this on the forum!im going to raise mine from 9 to 10..ill try this out!-drew

I forgot to ask this before. You guys talk about having too much turbulence in the chamber... Maybe is an dumb question but, did you guys installed the bubble diffuser so the side with no holes aligns with the water jet from the pump? That way the stream of water doesn't go directly to the reaction chamber. Just sayin'...

Fox2589,
Where do I get that piece from? it sounds like a good idea.

Sammy113,
Yes, I made sure the diffuser was in place properly.

THanks

sammy-you may be on to something..ill check it out-drew

cet 98-for the record i wasn't trying to act like it was my idea hahaha..happy reefing-drew

Can anyone measure how tall the bubble plate is on the NAC6?

I too want to try a mod on mine and can't reach into my skimmer to get it out without taking my sump out of my stand.

How tall from the base of the skimmer?

Or how tall the diffuser chamber by itself is?

NAC6 Water level question

I setup my NAC6 4 days ago. It sits in 11inches of water and I currently have the air tube @ 4. What is the sweet spot for this skimmer?
