I have a question for the NAC 7 owners.

What is the recommended water level in the sump for this model? I am thinking of buying the NAC 7 but the website does not have any online manuals on them.

According to Nuocean

Minimum water depth: 6".
For optimum performance NAC7 should be submerged in 9"-13" of water.

Thanks, my sump is designed so it has around a constant 8+ inch depth for the skimmer section. I hope this will suffice, but i may have enough room to raise it to 9 inches

I've decided my BM NAC6A skimmer stinks! This is a good thing. :D It pulls out all the nasty stuff and if I leave my cabinet door open and I have a cup full of skim I can smell it. These things are awesome little skimmers. Some of the best money I've spent on my tank.

Any concerns with putting a stick-up air freshener inside the cabinet? Obviously not where it could fall in.

I did on line searches and found the cheapest place. Watch out for china vendors they are cheap, but sometime after adding shipping the are not so cheap.

Here's a couple pics of what the BM150 has pulled out over the last few day.
They aren't the best shots because I was in a time crunch this evening but overall I'm very happy with the way this skimmer is performing.

I need some advice

Right now im planning on upgrading the skimmer on my 40 gallon breeder

im down the the BM NAC 6a for 199 (let me know if you know of a place with a cheaper price)

and the

Reef octopus NWB 110 2010 edition

for 128 shipped.

should i hold out for the BM or go with the RO at the lower price

Dont let your wife see that. My wife would kill me lol.

i almost went with the octo, then decided on the Nac7. I love it. Got it for 199 but that was because of a pricing error on the dealers part.
I would definitely get a BM again.

They have a 110v option also. Shipping is $48 to the US bring the cost up to $178. If I had to guess I'd say this is a Chinese company that ships all over the world.

110 is an option, but add it to your cart and on the right it will estimate shipping. And it varies (I think last month the lowest I could get was like $75). Now I get the following (which seems a little backwards)
EMS (7-10 days) - $63.00
Air Freight (2-4 weeks) - $88.00
Air Standby (2-6 weeks) - $46.00
This was for a NAC7 listed at $170. I found it (Ok I've been looking for a while) for $220 shipped.

I think one has a wider neck at the collection cup.

I have a NAC 7 and really like it, ... super quiet and pulls tons of junk out of the tank.

hold out. For one the NA6 should be compared to the NWB-150. the NWB-110 is the same diameter and general size of the NA3. the NA6 is just plain superior performing than the NWB-110 (and better than the NWB-150 too).
