The Bubble-Magus Club

If I understand what I read :). The advantage of the wider neck is that the bubbles last longer and more nog is likely to be exported. That is one of the advantages of the cones since they have no sudden transition. I considered all three (NAC6, NAC6A, and the NAC7) and went with the NAC7. I found it for about $220 shipped. The cheapest I could find a NAC6 (might have been NAC6A) was $199 (don't remember if this included shipping - probably). So to sort of answer the question I thought it was worth $20 for the better skimmer. You might ask Mojo.

I was looking to buy a bubble magus skimmer what should i get for a heavly populated 120 with 50 gallon sump. Do you think the Nac7 would be large enough?

From what I have read that will be a little at the low end. I think it is in the range they list, but I have the NAC7 on 75 gallon (lightly stocked) and getting excellent results. Of course the last skimmer was piece of garbage so maybe I am just catching up (3 weeks now). You also might check Mojo's thread. He recommended the NAC7 for 75, but don't remember how large he went to with it.

Where to you pick up your skimmer from? That's a great price. Thanks.

Cliff actually may have good point. I think I read that running 2 can be good so you can alternate cleanings. One should always have good head that way.

Just started up my BM150. :celeb2:

About how long is the break-in time? The skimmer is bubbling so much its pushing the lid up...I have the skimmer in ~10" of water. What setting should I put the water adjustment to?

Thanks for the help!

I have a puzzler.
My NAC7 was getting very noisy. I changed out the impellar, nnoise is stopped. Now, here is my dillema, I cannot adjust the water hieght inside the skimmer body anymore. No matter where I turn the wedgepipe out put to, the water level inside the skimmer never changes.
I am very familiar with skimmers, but this one has me stumped.
If I unhook the airline from the venturi, the water level can be adjusted. But no adjustment available with the airline hooked up.......anybody got any ideas to try for this one?
The skimmer is in 9 inches of water if that helps.

I checked that. I even tried it with the airline unhooked from the silencer.

this one has me quite baffled

Hi jon have you checked this part of the skimmer tube or the attachment that it goes into,i have red ringed the piece.
