Have anyone tried to replace the spare mesh impeller. That comes with the NAC6 or NAC7? Mine broke and the spare doesn't fit in the plastic shaft next to the magnet. Same happened to a friend who has a Nac6a. Were looking to upgrade the pump. Where can I find a pump the fits inside the skimmer and is able to take the 1" venturi? My skimmer is doing nothing right now. I glued the broken impeller and is making a nice mixture but is not pulling anything out

Have a Coke and a smile!

I am joining the ranks of the Bubble Magus Club. Just ordered a NAC 7 from SoCal Tropical Fish Outlet. Been running an ETSS downdraft skimmer for the past couple years. Never been overly impressed with it. It would either produce green tea or the nog would collect in the neck and never make it to the collection cup. But it was a gift from my brother-in-law who upgraded to a Beckett Injector skimmer from PM. So I couldn't complain. I've been reading alot of good things about the BM units. So can't wait to see how it performs.
If you are a equipment junkie you will love this shop, it is also a reef store. Good luck on your newest edition.

been in there a few times and I don't know how tom gets all that stuff in that tiny store. He does have an impressive collection of high end equipment/dry goods and quality corals!

Hey Tivo, I saw the Sedra 3500 on marine depot. Seems to me it doesn't come with the venturi but do you know if the threads are male or female in the pump housing? Looks like male and the skimmer's venturi is male also.

Also read back in the thread Chris from nuocean said Via Aqua's 2600 Pump is the same. The thing is the impeller but still not sure if it comes with 1" inlet. Tried searching around and no luck on that detail.

4 days worth of skimmate from a good old bubble magus BM100v2 on a 60 cube tank.

New distribution has changed things up a bit. Blue Ocean has taken it over and they had just about every mode in stock including 2 NAC7s when I was there on Sunday.

It's female 1"

Via aqua is essentially the same as atman so it not much of an upgrade IMO.

Just got a NAC-6, setup everything. Rinsed it out... all looks like it SHOULD. I put it in the sump (which im about to build) I filled it with fresh water, turned it out... started no issue... BUT the bubbles are NOT small whatsoever...

Is this because it needs time to break in?
Is it because its in freshwater and not salt?
Is there something wrong with my pump?

hellppp ahhh

All skimmers need a break in period and they also don't work well in fresh water.

You need to put it in salt water to get its max performance.
