Has anyone changed out the mesh wheel with the replacement the NAC6 comes with? If so how did you do it? Mine's almost a year old and pretty beat. I'd like to switch it out but it feels like if you put too much strain on the wheel, it may snap.
 
Being the way i am and have to play with everything when i get it, I pulled the mesh wheel off my nac6 first thing, it snaps into place and was a little difficult to pull off but mine did not break when i did it
 
Well, it looks like I'm joining the club! I just purchased a BM-150pro from Nuocean a couple days ago. I cant wait to see how it performs on my tank!!
 
I am looking for a skimmer for my 150 and was wondering how big would i have to go. my bioload is medium but i always want the option of having a heavy one.

Got my NAC7 on monday, this is day three and I love it. it came with a "bio-wheel"? and I have no idea what to do with it... if I even need it cause it's working like a champ! Below is a picture after 24 hours of it running in my sump.

Just got my BM150 pro today and man is it a nice skimmer! The Aquabee is so quiet and and the fit and finish is really nice to. I've only had it in the tank for a few hours but I can already tell this thing is going to skim like a beast!!

This last one is a a nice shot of the 150 sitting next to the NAC6. Its kind of a unique photo that you dont see to often. Its amazing just how similar they are.

I have a BM200E2 with needlewheel impellor in 1262 Eheim. However the needlewheel keeps breaking. Personally I think it is a design flaw as they weaken it with 4 holes near where it attached to the impellor. BM are refusing to replace it.

Anyway.... I was thinking that perhaps I could use an alternative needlewheel to BM type inside my 1262 Eheim. Does anyone have a suggestion? I am in the UK but could arrange to import from US.
 
Woot! I just picked up my Bubble Magus BMT01 dosing pump. I'll post some pics of the unboxing tonight when I get home from work.
 
I found a local shop which carries Bubble Magus products and managed to snag one of the new Bubble Magus 3 pump dosing units. I don't have experience with any of the Bubble Magus products, but the products look attractive enough. After a bit of reading I got the opinion that the company has been successful in providing reliable mid-range equipment at a lower cost point.

With my new tank up settling in after being transferred in early May, I began manually dosing DIY two-part. I love working on my tank, but I want to automate as much as I can so I don't get burnt out by the little things. For me, this meant a dosing pump was next on my wish list. I read some unfavourable reviews of the Aqua Medic SP3000 single dosing pumps but overall favorable reviews of their 2 - 4 pump systems. I only had one outlet available on my Reefkeeper Lite so multiple BRS pumps also weren't an option. I found the BMT-01 for the same price as the Aqua Medic 2 pump dosers. The extra pump was a nice bonus and will likely be used to dose Magnesium.

Overall, the package I received was well organized and attractive. Everything in bubble wrap and the box was in mint condition. It came with everything needed to hook up. Except for the acrylic mounting shelf and tube holder which wasn't included (but no big deal ). The unit itself is very compact and light. Despite the weight, the unit is very solid. The joints are tight and overall looks to be well engineered. Once I have a chance to set it up I will post more pictures and my experiences. There are few reviews online so I hope to add my two cents and document whatever problems I encounter.

Very nice Upster. I've been reading good things about the T01 and it looks to be very promising. You'll have to keep us updated on the reliability of it as time goes by. Its fairly new to the US market so it will me nice to see them evolve as time goes by.

On a side note the Chinese to English translations are just as bad with the skimmers to LOL. Wait till you read the instruction manual inside the box....if its anything like the skimmers "lost in translation" is putting it nicely.
 
I just got my NAC 6. All together, only question I have is how do you get the mesh wheel off he impeller shaft? Do I just pull? I was afraid of breaking something so I didn't pull too hard.

Yeah, no kidding. I tried to read the instructions last night over a glass of wine. I think I'm on my own for this one! :hmm2:

It seems like such an easy issue to solve. Heck, all it would take is an email to a native english speaker. I don't understand why they can't just slip a proper set of instruction papers into the box.

Haha! Just imagine if the Canadian government asked Bubble Magus to provide instructions in both french and english. lol

I didn't have any trouble figuring it out, I don't recall the quality of the translation though :fun5:. Setup of the dosing pump is easy though pretty much hit the esc button select what you want to do and the rest is pretty self explanatory. I'm liking mine.
 
I have a question for the NAC 7 owners.

What is the recommended water level in the sump for this model? I am thinking of buying the NAC 7 but the website does not have any online manuals on them.
